Since it’s usually the negative reviews of your management or your company , Why not share some good reviews as well

I go through multiple posts every day. Every one is cursing their company. The bosses are bad. Managers suck. Company is fraud. Is it always the company, managers , bosses at fault. How can we create better work environment in Indian Startup’s.?

I don’t know who needs to hear it, but do not blindly trust good glassdoor/ambitionbox/others ratings. In this bad market every company is working well below what their rating portrays. Now it could be 5/5 in one team but 2/5 in another in general sense. However, now the top to bottom trickle of pressure, politics and such is ensuing. You might think you’re seeing good people in ur next job, reviews are mostly good, work/role looks fine and jump into the company - only to realise that soon good people are being removed or they’re moving. See if u are not able to get honest feedback from someone in the company or ur new team before u join - be prepared for harsher reality. Like Swiggy was really good 1 year back or more but no longer. So it’s in ur best interest to get the current ground reality before joining somewhere in this economic condition.

What do you guys think about reviews on glassdoor - I feel positive 5 star reviews- HR has deliberately asked folks to do it Negative 1 star reviews - the employee had some grudge against someone or maybe their own performance could be poor as well. How seriously should you consider these reviews before you join any org?

Had recently commented on a post about the landlord atrocities, specifically in BLR. I thought it is important to build a glassdoor or grapevine kind of community or product for the property owners. Posting this again since the OG post seems was deleted. Startup founders or smart talented people - build one product with the wholesome reviews and feedback towards the rentals and landlords too. Specifically calling out “like” grapevine or glassdoor kind of platform because that gives the review back to the companies and not the other way round (employees) because companies hold the bigger card to always let the employees go and leave them high and dry. Same is the case with the rentals in Bangalore specifically and maybe india in general.

I have seen so many posts, on Grapevine alone, of how people are being harrassed and traumatized in their companies. And honestly, reading all those posts and comments scare the hell out of me because I haven't been subjected to or witnessed anything like this. Let me share the experience I have had till now: I have ~2 YOE, and Capgemini is my first company. I know the pay isn't great, but that's the only thing I don't like about the company. The people I have met or worked with in the entirety of my time here, they are supportive, kind, and considerate. Every single one of them, including the managers/directors. They don't expect you to work late hours or on weekends, unless there are critical escalations/important deadlines. My manager gives out words of thanks and appreciation, even on the smallest of things (yes he talks strictly too, and usually I am at the wrong when this happens, nothing major though). I get all the support that I need. I don't have to worry about the work life balance. I have never had a single issue with a teammate, and most of them are seniors whom I work with. No big egos, no attitude, nothing. They help out whenever I reach out to them. And it is the same story on my client side as well. I have worked/interacted with both male and female leaders, and all I have ever seen among everyone is empathy, respect for everyone's work, and always ready to help nature. I understand that this is all just my experience, but my reason for writing this post is to share a positive experience and that there are still good people around here.

Am I the only one who feels that posts asking for company review and resume reviews are degrading the experience here? When I open the app and see those things, it definitely makes me close the app since I will lose the interest in scrolling further. I understand that reviews on companies and resume would be really helpful. But, it's better to reach out to previous employees of a company directly to get a good picture, and similarly find a way to get the resume reviewed as well.
