Some Supervisors/Managers like their subordinates to call them by Sir/Madam instead of by their name and also they like to sit in cabins separately. Are we living in the 21st century??

I've had the fortune of having worked in 3 countries so far. India is by far the most exciting place to be in 2024.
But there's something about our work ethic that just concerns me. In both white and blue collar.

In most other countries, I've observed people strictly sticking to the 9 to 5, working diligently in those hours - not wasting too much time on chai sutta breaks, instagram browsing, gupshup etc.

They work for 8 hours, then leave. And think about work directly the next day.

In India, most of us spend more hours - but very obviously very few of those hours are productive. In fact, I lately feel that too many people around me are doing even 2-3 hours of work on a good day.

We end up just staying around, passing time, and then go back home. When we could have achieved so much more.

Work ethic has fallen. Work hours have gone up.

We need to be more mindful of our actions, we need to work well at work, and then do well at home.

I think it's a function of being over populated. There are 1.5-2 people doing what 1 person should be doing, hence this effect.

Needs to be fixed, it's the sign of a major problem in the workforce. Thoughts?

I am growing my hairs long, so they have become a little curly. My HR is asking me to either maintain my hairs with an hairband or get an haircut. Is this right to teach someone how to maintain hairs in corporate.

Corporate Culture?

Not sure you folks will agree with me, but people in IT especially the one's in senior positions (Director level) guys are running companies in 2024 but their thought process is somewhere stuck in the late 90's/early 2000's. 
They feel like what they have experienced or what they have been through is applicable in the current generation too. Be it from the perspective of working long hours or when having discussions around respectable increments/promotions. If we start giving them reasons as to how things are not working out they will end up going like "In our times it was difficult to get even 8% hike, We worked extra hours, we had limited access to technology etc etc".
How hard is it for them to realise that we live in the 21st century? Things have changed rapidly in the past 15-20 years from when they were working in the market. It's difficult to even convince them on anything as they have already made up their mind on how world was working, how it should work and how it will work in the future. 
Hope I was clear enough, but this is a serious problem in today's MNC (Sadly in some of the well performing startups)

Wanted to know why MNCs give priority to hire girls over deserving folks?
Got multiple calls and messages from juniors both from college and others that companies are hiring in the ratio of 8 girls to 1 boy. 

Is there any specific thing that the companies gain by this? 

Really saddened by this current scenario, first this reservation scenario, and now this diversity shit.

Seems like it is a curse to be born as a General Male in this country.

Why does this diversity thing exist?

In my org people have been creating that vibe where they are very sophisticated about their actions, the way they speak etc, they behave like we are working in a US based startup where they are using western lingo and all together a different way to communicate. I have worked in other startups in other cities but didn’t find this type of culture. Is this common or am I missing something?

What are your thoughts?

Dating has become the norm for relationships today, but many don't realize that it's a relatively recent development, prevalent in Western society for only about a century, and it's already causing societal issues.

Previously, Indian arranged marriages were standard (different from forced marriages). Families would arrange meetings between their daughters and another family's sons. If they liked each other, they would soon plan the wedding, marry, have sex, and start families.

Today, individuals are left to find their own partners. If you don't find someone in high school, university, or work, your chances of finding a partner diminish. There's also less incentive for marriage, as sex no longer requires marriage or even dating, leading to more people pursuing sex directly. This has created a skewed dynamic where fewer men pursue women due to competition, turning to porn instead, while women face exploitation by men who have abundant choices.

Ultimately, near 28-30 both genders rush to the arranged marriage system to get them a partner while having their feet dipped on dating apps.

In the US,
This has lead to decreased marriage rates and, consequently, lower birth rates since most births occur within marriages. A decline in families results in a decreased population, putting more pressure on younger generations to support an aging population. Western nations, therefore, rely heavily on immigration, causing additional challenges. Increased single motherhood also correlates with higher crime rates, drug use, loneliness, mental health issues, and suicides

P.S. I'm young and dating too. Just thoughts for a conversation on what the implications of dating for us as a society could be.
