Rule #1: save money. Always keep 6-9 months salary in FD if you are staying with parents (have home/food/utilities and no dependents on you). 12-15 months minimum if you are paying for rent+utilities etc and have dependents. Avoid emi's, loans. Please buy term insurance and health insurance at the earliest. Avoid ULIPS.   
  
 As Warren Buffett said, “Do not save what is left after spending, but spend what is left after saving.”

For guys who are mid management right now, I wonder how many are still motivated to show up at work and work under someone. I, for one, am looking at starting something by myself. Don't see any time better than now to branch out and take the plunge as an entrepreneur. The market is anyway not favouring employees, might as well bring that old idea in the head, dust it out and implement it in the world.

Hey all! I am from Bangalore, and i have been posting in this Reddit for few days and liked the quality of the community here

Well, i wanted to Well, this happened this year after my former startup. i worked with lost funding and forced to resign with a month's pay. I came home at march and i started applying to jobs again , slowly, and nothing occurred. After a month, i got a deal as a freelance startup where i currently work. It took me 28 days to get my new role

So i have a few suggestions which might be useful:

Always be in touch with recruiters; literally we dont know when our last date is in our organization, and keep naukri profile active

Keep a buffer amount sorted out atleast one month expense for god sake time to help you sort out stuffs

Come out of house and start part time jobs in local it is okay to work in Apollo and other places for a few bucks and take-us out of the laptop zone We do not know when we will need them in detail too

Apply and pray but not only that, take any local jobs until you get any good job at least they can add financial contribution to yourself

Finally, always plan to start that side thing alternate to corporate anytime in this time, like what ever we like and stuff we will not know its value a day!

Now what we can do when we are in a full time corporate job :

Have a side income running either by direct or indirect ways we must have the flex to come out of the conference room without worrying for atleast 15 days

Start something from bootstrap an small venture or anything we dont know when we need them

Have minimum 2 income source literally in this economy having a other income from any other way is a blessing tbh we all must have any of it too

Remember we all are disposable and stop fighting the top 1 percentage , we all can be sent out in name of layoffs etc so being ready for the bad news is the new reality

I know many points are generic but this is the reality we have to realise that we are not next big stuff just

Please tell me if there is any survival kit to survive the layoff. I am a Product Manager and have been laid off yesterday. Since then I have been panicking and feeling anxiety all the time. I am trying to be calm and handle this with all my patience but I am failing into this. I feel lost, confused, and shattered. Even breathing feels like a task right now. I got laid off today from a YC-backed startup (W23) citing a shift in product focus. Was part of the core team since Oct '21, initially as an intern then later converted to FTE in '22. I recently changed my job, 3-4 months back.
It was a hard time finding a good job profile with good offer, after almost a year of searching amd giving interviews i found my current job. Luckily, my interviews were very good and i was offered more than what i had asked.
After joining team, i realized that they are looking to prepare for some regulatory changes and my role was pivotal in that. I kind of got to work and contribute on my own and my manager and his boss liked me. I was getting set but then last week, company announced some changes in top leadership and my manager's boss got a new boss. Now this guy seems little tricky and i don't know what all changes he would bring. As of now he seems to be sure of expanding the team/work that i do (related to regulatory stuff).

Now, these changes has got me a bit nervous. And i am kind a bit afraid about my job and its future. This is causing me stress. Any ideas or thoughts that can help me navigate.

My current situation is horrible,I am constantly stressed about getting laid-off(My performance is good,I got promoted a month ago). I came to know that my company will probably lay people off this month,since they are unable to meet targets.

Now,I got rejected in four interviews.
There is a lot to learn and revise.
Stats and probability.
Machine learning algos.
Deep learning architectures(got rejected because I was unable to explain the architecture of a complex model in detail).
DSA(got rejected twice in this round).
SQL (got rejected once since I was unable to solve the SQL problem).
ML ops(some recruiters ask this as well).

With the added pressure of getting laid off,my whole life is turned upside down.I am unable to focus.
Every meeting or discussion I attend I feel like people are evaluating me.( This was not the case before).
I don't know what to do.
It would really help,if you guys share your interview experiences below.
