Is switching cost from Swiggy to Zomato really that high?

Mostly it's worse discounts and CS compared to Swiggy. Rarely is something cheaper on Zomato. Plus a huge chunk of restaurants no longer have free delivery in Zomato so that makes them useless there as well.

Imo swiggy and Zomato customers have no right to complain. 
 1. The food ordered thru these apps are charged higher than what is charged at the restaurant. The package charges are additional and higher. The discount given doesn't bring them down. 
 2. Nobody in the world is that busy that they can't go to a nearby restaurant and have food. Not even Ambani or adani.  
 3. If we  don't value our money, don't expect the corporate to value ours.they are here to make profits not to ensure your health or comfort. 
 People who use those apps deserve to be ripped off.

Is Swiggy in trouble? Every time I try to order they are either delayed or don't have any delivery partners. There seems to be some ops issue. Doesn't seem to be as reliable as it used to be 2 months back.

I ordered food and found insect inside the food. When i complain to swiggy customer support, the stupid executive told me to mail the issue.

One thing i don’t understand is if i have to mail the issue then what is chat feature for? Just to tail the user to email?

Does swiggy really care about customer? Would like to know someone who is  swiggy employee here

What can i do to teach that executive a lesson and do max damage to restaurant(mad over donuts) which sent food with insect? Someone from swiggy may know it better so asking it here.

Ordered atta today, the delivery guy threw it on the floor. Flour everywhere, had to clean it up.

Asked the customer rep to help, took 30+ minutes only to not refund me the money.

I'd advice everyone to not use them if you live in South Delhi. Terrible customer facing staff members.

Biz dev and engineers might be alright, but everything else at Swiggy sucks.

Recently, I heard a very interesting story about Swiggy from someone. Their mum booked a high value order as a surprise for them on Swiggy. Since they had a Swiggy One subscription, the whole family used the same account.

Halfway through, the delivery person calls them, says the vehicle broke down. Mum steps away to deal with something else and when the delivery person calls again, their dad picks up. The delivery person says the vehicle broke down but he'll figure something out and send it with someone else, but to do that first, he'll need their details. He proceeds to ask for their phone number (linked to account) and for the OTP sent from Swiggy? Sounds super strange but the dad took pity and figured sure, let me try and make this delivery person's unlucky day a bit nicer — after all, it's a Swiggy account anyways, what harm could it do. He shared the OTP.

Almost immediately after, the delivery person changed the phone number for the account and everyone logged in lost access to the account. Ofc, he scammed the order for himself. The real kicker is that their Email ID was still linked to the account, so anytime the delivery person makes an order, they get an email with his order details. So far, they've been regularly getting order details emails with orders for paan, gutkha, cigarettes and some sides/chakna, all to some mall. 😂

Now, cool story bro, but how is this Swiggy's fault, you ask? Well, support has been contacted multiple times, over multiple accounts, but to no avail, because clearly their customer support has gone to shit. Even with the address and phone number of the delivery person who scammed them, and having an email id linked to the account, they've been of absolutely no help, as if their hands are tied. Their user workflows are so brittle, they don't account for the simplest locked out of account scenarios, let alone address security concerns and protect the customer from their own agents. Truly a wonder this company is worth anything.

First, there's the story of a guy who got married to his girlfriend this month after facing threats from his family. Then, there's the incident with colleagues on a Thailand trip who accidentally switched bags, resulting in the guy's wife threatening the other girl. Now, this incident. The grapevine is providing more entertainment than Netflix!

I ordered from swiggy today for dinner and it initially said 30m. It came down to 9m when the delivery exec reached the restaurant. For quite some time it was at 9m until now, when it increased to 15m...wtf?!?

Zomato tells that the order is delayed....but wtf is swiggy doing with its ops-tech? How come it's increasing the ETA instead of saying that the order is delayed? Super frustrating

I placed an order on swiggy from Meghana’s. The order was of 1700 and I was trying to order one more item and cancelled the order by mistake. I cancelled the order within 1 min but reached out to support team for the refund. 

The cancellation button on the order has this little 4 bars which I thought was the allowed time to cancel an order. And if I remember correctly there was a dark pattern where there was no additional confirmation to check whether I’m okay to cancel the order with the entire amount as penalty. 

If they had asked or pointed out that the full amount was going to be levied as a penalty, I would have chosen to get this delivered. 

They had charged entire bill amount for cancellation and responded saying this is according to the police. I tried to understand how charging entire amount is reasonable. I tried making them realise that even if they had charged 500 rupees I would understand the charges. 

Later they asked me to write an email regarding the same. I wrote that email and now I have got an update that they won’t be able to refund any amount. 

This is Meghana’s biriyani, and it was almost within 1 minute and they charge the entire fucking bill amount. I am still okay to pay a cancellation charge if the food was prepared or was on the way to deliver but full amount for within 1 min. I truly hate how these fucking companies choose to be so callous towards both employees and customers. 

I always believed that most companies are empathetic towards customers and employees but I guess I’m wrong.

- F*ck you Swiggy!
- F*ck you for being insensitive towards customers 
- F*ck you to your policies that makes a customer suffer 
- F*ck you to taking away a customers money and hoarding it with the restaurant for zero service delivery 
- F*ck your leadership team for using profitability as an excuse to hide behind shitty customer experience 
- F*ck your strategy and legal team to devise those cancellation policies

Zomato outperforms Swiggy by 3-4X in every parameter, How do you look at these results, Do you agree with this analysis?

Is this an effect of Public Listing?

Feels like bad data analysis by inc 42 team. Or clooktrack. Not all reviews mention each of these parameters and hence how this has been weighted needs to be clarified. Also how the f is food quality on zomato 3x Better than Swiggy?? Both are platforms and should ideally be nearest in this.

Swiggy is slowly becoming unusable. They have already increased minimum amount in Instamart for free delivery from 99 to 149 to 199 now. This is really becoming a problem. Is there any other alternative to this? They are slowly showing their true colours now that they are aiming profitability.

Hey, So I ordered 2 subs from Swiggy after a long time (2016-17, when I had a very horrible experience with them). Subway was only open there. 

Ordered 2 subs and they delivered only 1. Asked for a photo (there's no option for video). I shared the pics. They said we'll take care next time and refused to provide any support. Flat out refused refund or replacement. 

What are my options now? I read it's pretty common with Swiggy. Never had this issue with Zomato where they had to commit frauds to earn.

I never thought I’d be writing this, but after my experience with Swiggy on the night of October 9th and the early hours of October 10th, I feel compelled to share what happened.

It was around 2 AM when I placed an order from Burger King , hoping to enjoy a late-night meal. Everything seemed normal until I noticed the delivery guy on the tracker wasn’t moving from one spot. I waited patiently for over 30–40 minutes, thinking there was perhaps a minor delay. But when I realized something was off, first I reached out to delivery agent asking what is happening he told there is an another order needs to be delivered.I reached out to Swiggy’s customer support as well to check this. First of all they completely denied the bulk order statement and They responded by refunding my order amount – a standard resolution, but nothing beyond that. It seemed the delivery person had simply taken the order and never delivered it.

Feeling frustrated but still hungry, I placed another order from the same restaurant around 3 AM, trusting Swiggy to deliver, as that is their primary responsibility. However, things didn’t improve. This time, I tracked the delivery person again, and once more, he was stationary at one spot for far too long. When I called him, he assured me he was on his way, but the map showed no movement. Eventually, he arrived after an agonizing wait.

When I finally received the order, I immediately checked the contents in front of him, only to discover that one of the burgers I had ordered was missing. When I questioned the delivery person, he claimed that it wasn’t his job to ensure the order was complete – he was merely delivering what he picked up from the restaurant.

Once again, I turned to Swiggy’s customer support. Their response? A simple message of regret and an offer to refund my money. No investigation, no assurance of improvement, and certainly no accountability for the repeated failures in delivering what I had ordered.

While I appreciate the refund, this experience highlights a deeper issue. It’s not just about the money. It's about the time wasted and the lack of trust in a service that is supposed to make life easier. It’s about Swiggy’s apparent lack of oversight when it comes to their delivery agents and the growing number of similar complaints from customers.

I urge Swiggy to take such incidents seriously. The company needs to monitor its delivery agents better and take swift action when things go wrong. Refunds aren’t enough when the core service – delivering food – is being mishandled time and time again.

I have all the screenshots of my conversations with Swiggy, and I hope this serves as a wake-up call for them to improve their services before they lose the trust of more customers.

What’s the use of being Swiggy one membership what’s the use of trusting Swiggy when their delivery guy can adulterate it or completely eat it. Does simati has better checks than Swiggy ?
