[Thread] What is the best thing about your city?

For me it has to be the evening skies looking at the sunset

If so, why? (I am doing so because going back home and living with parents sounds a bit depressing.)

We have so many options for cafes, restaurants, pubs, parks, malls, great weather, great people, etc,. What is that one thing you're missing and would have been nice to experience or have?

- Young boys of Juhu, Bandra, Versova all look like Aryan Khan and Vedang Raina (Archies starcast), like everyone is an actor here or what? - The traffic isn't shitty, the drivers are. They are coming at you from everywhere, left right front. If you can drive here, you are good for anywhere tbh - Only 1% of the Two wheelers drivers wear helmet. No fear of traffic cops if not for life? - The roads man, the roads. Never appreciated Delhi/Gurgaon more than seeing such tiny roads across the country - The pay disparity is on the face! Posh areas with tall buildings are lined with small houses - tarpaulin roof, bare walls but AC units - The family bond is very evident - families watching TVs together with windows open (why don't they draw curtains tbh?) or be it on beaches over the weekend. It's cute nonetheless ❤️ - The safety is crazy (in a very good way). I was out at 10pm last night, and my mind was panicking like shit. But looks like, be it 10 am or 10pm, it is BAU for the city - Have you seen the traffic signals? Apart from the usual, they have four tubelights in perpendicular. Just cannot jump lights now! - Metro has 4 coaches 😆 - The Sea heals parts of your soul you didn’t even know were broken 🥺 I'll add more 🫣

Came down from Delhi NCR for just two days. Everything here was sub par. Weather, traffic, offices, food, you name it

Which cities in India have you lived in? Which one did you like the best? Where did you find the best people? Which city is best for hustle for 25-30 year olds? Any perspective on any city is welcome here. Curious to hear what people have to say. Thanks in advance.

As a Delhiite, I don't even remember when I went to Qutub Minar or Red Fort Or shopping at Sarojini or Lajpat How will I know which hotel is good or bad? I don't stay in hotels in my own city 🤦‍♀️

People have this weird notion that Delhi/Gurgaon isn't safe and that the folks here are as warm as an ice cube in Antarctica. Can you believe that? It's the city with good infrastructure and a welcoming vibe for migrants. It's like the cool kid at the party, while Bangalore has a little something called the Bangalore police. Now, these folks, they've got a unique way of welcoming North Indians – by demanding money when they hear you speaking Hindi. Yes, you heard that right. I've had not one but two laughable encounters with them. Picture this: I'm just out for a casual late-night walk at 11 PM (because who needs sleep, right?), and out pops Mr. Constable, asking for his "fee" and insisting it's against the law to stroll around at that hour. And guess what? I'm not the only one in this comedy club. Hundreds of people have taken to Twitter to share their own hilarious stories. Now, let's switch gears and talk about Gurgaon. It's got the smooth roads, a fast track to the airport, and apartments where you don't need to sacrifice your life savings as a deposit. It's the practical choice for newcomers. So, in a nutshell, let's keep challenging these stereotypes and celebrate the positives of each city. Gurgaon, you're the real MVP, and Bangalore, maybe it's time for you to rethink your police's comedy night. City rivalries – always good for a chuckle!
