"BYJU’S grew considerably since our first investment in 2018, but, over time, its reporting and governance structures did not evolve sufficiently for a company of that scale. Despite repeated efforts from our Director, executive leadership at BYJU’S regularly disregarded advice and recommendations relating to strategic, operational, legal, and corporate governance matters. The decision for our Director to step down from the BYJU’S Board was taken after it became clear that he was unable to fulfil his fiduciary duty to serve the long-term interests of the Company and its stakeholders."

This is major - Prosus just publically said that BYJU's had improper governance and failed to improve despite their recommendations

- The resignation letter highlighted inadequate support from Byju's management in providing necessary audit information.
- Byju's co-founder Byju Raveendran called the resignation a blackmail tactic, claiming compliance with all auditor requests.
- BDO requested a forensic audit after Byju's admitted insolvency in July and mentioned loss of control over some subsidiaries.
- This marks the second auditor resignation in 15 months, following Deloitte's exit last year over delayed financial statements.

Heard that there has been some senior management connect, where in due to financial constraints & lack of new round of funding. Some folks will be asked to leave.

Analyst

- Byju's founder, Raveendran, declared the company's worth as zero after key investors resigned from the board.
- The resignations made it impossible for the edtech firm to raise further funds.
- Raveendran expressed regret over taking the Term Loan B, which he described as the most expensive capital.
- The company is currently undergoing bankruptcy proceedings, with the National Company Law Tribunal initiating insolvency proceedings against Byju's.
- Despite the crisis, Raveendran remains optimistic about a turnaround and insists there has been no fraud within the company.

Byju's Founder Declares Company Worth Zero After Investor Exodus

I hear tales about how at their peak, BYJU's used to deal with investors. 
They would not share financials. If you wanted to invest, they'd ask you to come down to office, and only for that time, see whatever you want to see. 

Investors obliged. It was the shining star of Edtech India, nobody wanted to miss out. 

Now those same investors are ousting the founder, fair enough.

But I hope enough people look back and realize they created the problem. They allowed it to exist.

BYJU's: Wasn't it always gonna happen?

The new head of HR who came from Infy  has been given a mandate to clean up the house and there are multiple people ( still) drawing salaries upwards of 50 Lakh to 2 Cr who have been asked to move out if they have not moved out already .

Even one of Byjus Relatives in a head role has been asked to move out

Byjus Next Round - CTO, CPO and multiple VPs and Business Heads

First, they had a layoff.
Lot of good people quit including great people
Then, they had a second lay off 
Some  great people in the leadership quit.
Middle management people are quitting every day.
Only engineers and other people who are not able to get jobs are remaining 
They shut down majority of US acquisitions
They are trying to sell some of them like Tynkr and Epic
Not able to raise funding till now even though trying since December 
Sales is down 90% 
New Inside Sales process is not working 
They are out of runway.

Byjus may shut down

First the audit report got delayed. Now they’ve reported a loss of over 4.5k cr. And I believe they’re like a mothership of edtech, if they gone down then the entire category goes down from an investment perspective
