How did you transition from Android to BE. What was your strategy here. Did you just start applying for BE jobs directly and learnt on the job or did you guys do any sort of preparation earlier.
I am already well versed with Java and Kotlin. What advice would you give me.
Start by making some full stack projects that are backend heavy. Something like web socket enabled clients (e.g. two player tic tac toe on android, given you’re versed into it).
You’ll learn about backend development as well as build a portfolio.
Next, apply to full stack or backend roles with orgs that also work with android. Skill set would be useful, and you’ll get more callbacks with a couple of projects and relevant experience under your belt
Has anyone successfully transitioned from mobile development (iOS/Android) to backend development? If so, how did you do it, what were the main challenges you faced during this transition, and how did you overcome them?
After 3 yeo of experience in FE i am looking to switch to BE but want to take advice from peeps who have actually done that. If you have any pointers plz suggest me. Thanks in advance.
