Travel influencer has ruined reality

The number of times I've heard people say shit like 'traveling makes you grow as a person'. Someone please specify what this growth looks like because I've never experienced it. I don't think traveling is life-changing. I think most people have a romanticized, cinema-like idea of traveling that has been exaggerated even more because of social media. It definitely is fun to go on a vacation. But in most cases, that's all it is -- a source of entertainment. Maybe an ice-breaker the next time you go to some pretentious party. Am I missing something?

Instagram drives fomo have created epidemic of status driven consumption like ₹2500 for a one hour class of pottery, strawberry picking for Rs. 2000. What happened to free activities like playing morning cricket or enjoying IPL finale with your best friends / family . Bangalore economy is running on fomo

I am not sure but how every influencers have faced everything in their life. From being yelled by professors in front of whole class to going on foreign trip for first time after they became an influencer. And all influencers are from tier-3 college, and everyone think going to college is waste and everyone needs to do remote jobs and leetcode. PS: also saw an influencers who wrote he traveled by train for first time in life in 2022 (his 4th year of college)

I genuinely sometimes don't understand how influencers/content creators earn so much money and just spend on anything. It's too frustrating to see that you work your ass off everyday for 9-10 hours and get those weekends to chill and still can't save up enough money to go to Europe for 2 weeks. On the contrary, the influencers who don't have any fucking talent just do some random bs podcast, some clothing haul, some grwm and then go to a Taylor Swift concert and go to 5 countries in a year with the most luxurious stays. Is it just me or is it frustrating for everyone to see? They will meet any celebrity, buy the latest smartphone, have the best parties etc. It's like I want that life but I don't think I'll be able to ever get there.
