Truth Bomb on Indian EdTech
Was interviewing a lady for augmenting specific skills I need at a project I am currently running. I asked her for details on where she was working at, and her answer verbatim: "Waise to ye coaching class hai but owner isko Ed Tech bulaate hai."

Depends on the company tbh. Scaler and all are what I would call coaching classes, but what about cos like upGrad which make university degrees accessible and affordable?
Not tarring everyone with the same brush, but the reality is there is very little Tech in most EdTech.
These are ecommerce marketplaces for courses, so definitely closer to Ed tech than coaching centres.

They do it to get their valuations done at software company multiples while being a coaching centre

Especially now with this wave of Edtech -> Offline Ed (Masters Union, etc.)
It's not really EdTech anymore, EdTech is dead
