Twitter is the new orkut/fb?

The more I spend time on Twitter particularly #TechTwitter, the more I realise it is like orkut/fb of our times. Young kids build random connections, woo opposite genders, sliding in DMs, shitpost, share personal stuff.

I use twitter particularly for reading about startups, tech, finance and economy.

But the most cringe content is usually visible in the tech bros/girls feed.

Do you agree?

start by unfollowing unneccessary tags and make your custom feeds, train your algo!

I usually create personal lists on X for each topic of interest. But, occassionally I check in the normal feed on X and that's where I see the noisy stuff.

Agree with @satan here, you will have to actively filter out (unfollow) the noise and keep spending more time / clicking links / commenting on the posts you like. Then leave it to X’s algorithms to keep showing you the things you like.

10+ years on Twitter and I'm following like 40 people. I'm very careful about whom I follow. These + the recommended posts are more than enough for me 🤣
