US Hiring scene right now?

My friend from college (grad of '21) went to the US to pursue an MS in robotics to move there, got a job in India and is now coming back. Is the hiring scene in the US that bad?

Hi, I am currently working as an software developer (5+ years experience)with around 40LPA CTC. Most of the people in my circle have gone there 2-3 years back. Now I am having a fear of missing out, I applied for a few universities and I have got an admit in MS in CS. Is it worth it to migrate to another country and start again at this point of my career? What is your opinion on work in USA compared to India? Need some experienced folks with honest answers please.

Hi everyone, I'm a software engineer with 2 years of experience. I've worked on building mobile apps and have some good experience with Python too. For 2024 spring semester, I will be moving to the US for my masters. Currently, I'm serving notice period in the company, and I have around 4 months before I start my studies. I'm trying to decide whether to take up a contract role or focus on improving my skills and contributing to open source projects. I want to choose the option that would be best for my career. Any suggestions?

I'm working as a software Engineer at a startup with almost 2 YOE. Looking at most of my friends going to usa for masters right after college i felt like I'm making a mistake by not doing the same after listening software engineers earning 100K us dollars there. I thought I'll give myself two years get some work experience and then think about it but honestly I'm still confused if i should switch(which is not proving to be so simple in the current job market) or should I go for masters (again confused here in choosing between usa or Germany or Australia). Will taking almost 40 Lakhs of loan money and doing it be worth it ? Seriously damn confused about what next step to take. When I spoke with the CTO here, he advised it's not worth and you can be earning almost similar money here soon. I'd say FOMO is also a big thing here. As i tell myself let's take the risk, 2 years of study will be done soon and then work for 3-4 years , make big money , repay the loan and get back to India. I'd be having the international exposure, experiencing some above average lifestyle than India , so confused man Any grapeviners who might have seen people around them taking this step please suggest me what to do, any advice is greatly appreciated 🙏

Hi, I want to work in either US or European countries. Is it possible to land there without doing masters? I am a software engineer and financially it’s hard for me to go for masters. Is it possible that I can apply from here and land a job in any of the companies in other countries?

I’ve total 4 years of experience in data engineering. I wanted to have on-site opportunities but in this market it’s not looking easy. ( Recently switched) So I’m thinking to utilise this time by pursuing masters from canada / aus. Do you guys think it’s safe to let go of the job and pursue msc?

I have three younger cousins. They don't want to code. They have their clarity. They don't want to pursue any particular engineering stream as well. They want to get a decent paying job. Let's say 6-8 lpa start with a path to 15-20 lpa in 4-5 years. I tried advising them to not invest a lot of money and four years of time in engineering. Their family is average middle class financially. I told them that I'll advise you what all to learn like content writing, seo, data analytics etc. So do a simple course, save money and rather invest in something that matters for job. They did listen but did not get confidence to act. All three went for engineering stream. These are private colleges with tier 3ish names. Now they don't get time to put a lot of time because 8-4 is usually college time. Unlike tier 1,2 college where you get campus and a lot of freedom, the colleges usually have a lot of classes and compulsory 80% type attendance. Did you face similar situation? What did you advise? Do you think I was giving them right decision?

Title says it all Wanted to know about your opinions on same. I could list some things which came on top of my mind - Pros of Software Engineer job in India- 1. Good salary 2. Folks are friendly and helpful generally 3. Living near to family Cons- 1. WLB is non existent in most private companies. 2. Pollution in Delhi NCR 3. Politics and favouritism in workplace 4. Immense competition to get/switch job Also considering the layoffs and difficult job market in US, Is it worth to take a huge loan and leave all the comforts?

I'm currently working as a software engineer in India, with TC 45LPA and 2 years of experience. I'm thinking about applying for a Master's in CS in the USA for fall 2024. But I'm not sure if I want to settle there or not currently. Should I make the move considering things are going well in India? Getting a job directly in the US seems close to impossible. Any advice?
