Unpopular Opinion: I prefer Work from Office
I know this is not what majority of people like to listen, but for people coming from other cities with no friends and poor social skills, working remote or hybrid starts taking a toll on your mental health. The isolation it brings is so overwhelming. You feel trapped and frustrated, when there's no one to talk to. Sometimes, I feel the quality of life of our kind of lower than street vendors at least they have people they can talk to. I just hate the way we are wired to be social animals yet find it overly difficult to connect with people.
If you are early stage of your career if you don't have responsibility at home you should come to office it's a healthy approach but for people like me who has already spend more than a decade in office life and has a small child at home working for home is like a saviour for me and my wife
Exactly! I was about to say this. I worked for a decade in-office and even during pandemic. My current role, I looked for a fully remote role so I could spend most of time with my little bundle of joy.

I doubt it's entitlement or lazyness. It's generally not working from office itself that's ticks people off. It's the never ending traffic jams, bad roads, time wasted, and the frustration of being on these roads that does.

Agree agree agree.
Work is a social construct. Social interaction is must
I agree with you. I feel the same. After i got my 1st job i thought i would socialize in new city new people i might even change some things in my character to communicate.
Basically not a online person I prefer in person interaction much better for relationships either friends or family or work.
But complete WFH just evaporated my thoughts before even starting.
There is merit in both sides of the argument. That's why I feel hybrid is the best approach, with employees exercising their judgement on when and how long they need to be in office and at home.
Agreed. WFO is not as bad as people make it out to be. Hybrid option is the best.
Also who are wasting your prime years of youth sitting idle in home. This is the best time to travel and explore different places.

You're comparing work from HOME with work from RENTED HOUSE. Obviously that's not good. If you're to stay in your rented home 1000miles away from home, then obviously going to office is much better option.
Call out your office who's unnecessarily mandating coming to the city just to pay rents

When your team is a blessing, working from office will be one of the best things in life.
Agreed. Desperately looking for a fulfilling role with normal timings
WFH is a blessing if you use it properly. WFO everyone should do for few years.
U missed the whole point of Remote! If u are working remotely why would u come to other city at the first place !
I understand. You can go to office and work if you like. Just don't ask any of us to always be there. (Ps- Hybrid is fine. Full time wfo, no way for me)
Ones desperate need for social interaction because of an impaired mental makeup and fear of isolation as a mental handicap is no justification to put others through the wfo grind. A hybrid model works best in my opinion. Takes care of both sides - for and against.
Not unpopular. I'm very much into work from office, at least 2-3 days a week, particularly early in the career.
Wfh is great for people having kids who aren't going to school.
But my mental health sucks being at home.
After college, work is a good way to build social capital since you already spend hours looking at each other every day.
People even find their life partners at work
Anytime work from home... whether a fresher or a decades of experience...i don't find work from office worth at all
No I prefer to work from home since most IT companies are getting better works and performance from their employees while they work from home and when this happens employees gets good perks and incentives. So overall it is healthy and wealthy for happiness of both employee and employer.
If wfo causes reduction in your tc by 6lpa ( living expenses in Bangalore ) . WFh anyday .

Soo true,
I have been a WFH employe since I started my career.
Last year I just randomly thought of visiting BLR to see our office and that 2 weeks were super awesome and productive.
