WFH means work from anywhere?

Why do people think that work from home means we can work from anywhere, in a car, bus, crowd, I personally feel like it's a disrespect to IT employees when someone tells me, come to a function and work from there, I mean it's a real work which needs its own environment to work with, anyone feel the same?

Totally agree.. I'm all for attending some pointless meetings once in a while when you are stuck or get some unplanned work but I don't think I can work from anywhere. I need my chair, my table and a lot of concentration. It's more like earning your pay for the day.

Then I think it's better to provide desktop to every employee working from home. And I think there are many things which is not proper for it company. Please raise voice for that also.

Just tell them you cannot as you need the monitor. If they will bring a monitor, a keyboard, and a mouse on their own, then you can work from there.

By that logic, companies should not hold or force employees attend pointless meeting, being a manager doesn't mean, the job is to forward emails saying please take care of ask for updates alone, when being on bench it's not employee responsibility to find a project, working from office means one should not be forced to login during non working hours to attend critical issues, i Employees don't cheat, employees are forced to cheat.

This doesn't have anything to do with the company, it's about people' assumption that IT job requires one to just type with the laptop and that can be done from anywhere, in other words, they think that it's real easy and doesn't require any seriousness, which shows disrespect. They wouldn't assume the same if a doctor was working online and giving prescription online because they think doctor job is serious, if you know what i mean

According to you WFO means employees should work during office hours 9-5 clock their 8 hrs and strictly log off after 5 right? No extended working hours weekends etc BS!
