Yes, you're doing the right thing. Family comes first. Look for remote roles that fit your skills. Many companies offer WFH now. Prioritize your parents' well-being.

Yes Family First, as long as you don't have any kind of loan or stressful situation, giving top priority to family is good choice. 
  
 Office people will move on when you are not there your family wont, not that (office people) they are bad but they don't have any choice.

I have 2.5+ years of work experience as a PM at start ups. I like working under pressure. Hot fixes or quick releases.
I believe in management which observes and takes decisions quickly and releases quickly and doesn't play too safe.

Also, I don't want to quit my current company, but I'll have to since no WFH can be offered. A chance to move back home is the only reason I am thinking of switching.
Am I doing the correct thing? Let me know.

I have been doing WFH for the last 3 years from my hometown. Before that i was in Bangalore(YOE:5). Now i am kind of bored, doing the same activity daily, visiting the same places on weekends. 

Thinking of relocating for short-term(1-2 months) somewhere, budget 20-25k monthly, not so lonely place. Suggest some places, internet is a top priority. If i liked the place, I can extend my stay.

I graduated in May 2023 and joined a US-based remote startup as an SDE in September 2023. They don't have a physical office in India, so they hired me via Deel (https://www.deel.com/) as an independent contractor.

In the future, if I plan to make a switch, will I face any problems as all the documents state that I'm a contractor and not a full-time employee?

The full-time employees of the company also work remotely, so the experience I get is pretty much the same.

To add some more context, I participated in Google Summer of Code 2023 and received the offer to work full-time later. So it is an open source organization, and all the pull requests I make are publicly available on my GitHub profile, but I highly doubt that the HR team will consider that.

I really love working here, but if it'll create some difficulty in the future, then I might have to reconsider.

Help and suggestions would be really helpful.

Remote job right after college

Guys, I recently switched to a startup that is operating fully remotely, where I am working as a software engineer. This is something that I consciously chose as I personally liked working from home. I have 2 years of experience in this field. In my earlier job, I was working from the office in mumbai, so I have lived in the suburbs of mumbai for around 1.5 years. I am turned 25 just a few months back.

I come from a small town in Rajasthan. I do have a bsnl fibre connectivity at home, which gives good enough internet connectivity as well. Living in a small town and with parents is great. I save almost all of my salary. 

Now, here comes the confusion - being early in my career, i feel like I should live in the city, like bangalore, explore more things, but since I already lived in mumbai, to be very honest I didn't liked it to that extent as I am not the party guy, and too many people make it more worse, traffic I am not even considering. 

I am kind of very simple. Home to office and office to home, on weekends maybe go to temples and explore some places around. I also have food choices, which makes it more difficult to survive. Like I am pure vegetarian and don't even eat onion/garlic, nobody in the home actually eats it. 

No offence to anyone, but  I feel extremely uncomfortable when i am asked to eat at restaurants where non-veg is surved during company offsites and all. 

Now, just for the context, it's not that I never lived  away from family. Actually, I am staying away from my family from very early school days, like 8th/9th standard. And somehow, I managed it all during all those years. 

That is one of the reasons that makes me feel as if I should spend more time with my parents.

What would be your advice for me so that I don't leave behind in my career and at the same time live a balanced and happy life.

Also, considering my context, which city would you recommend me to relocate to? Or should I not even think about it?

I am currently working as a security analyst working for a company that provides pentesting as a service to its clients. I am getting paid 17lpa fixed salary. I earn 80-90k from freelancing every month pre taxes.

So should I switch or not. It's been 3 years I am in this company and I can't see much growth now. I will be doing the same work. 

The work is full remote and the culture of company s also nice and workload is fine. 

What should I do?

Should I look for a product based company but most of them call onsite. I want remote work only that is mandatory.

Even though the company hasn’t enforced RTO, I’m exhausted with this WFH setup. I’ve been stuck in the same spot for the last 3-4 years, working remotely. I haven't made any new connections outside of work, and I feel dependent—my food’s cooked, my parents are always around. At 27, having never left home, I’m itching to move out and experience life on my own terms, to figure things out for myself. The pressure at home—talks of buying a house, marriage, the usual stuff—is overwhelming, and honestly, I need a break from it all.
And after all this, there's a second thought about expenses that i'd incur, but then peace of mind is a tradeoff.

Guys who are staying in metro cities like Delhi NCR, Pune, Bangalore or Hyderabad.. Can anyone tell me how much in hand salary is sufficient to live above mentioned metro cities with the family who has parents and 2 children dependents?
Currently I am working remotely (work from home) but due to no hikes or promotion I think I need to switch and now a days very less or none companies offering work from home..Evey company either 5 days a week or following hybrid model...
So, please give ur valuable suggestions so that I can get idea whether should I switch and come to any metro cities or should I stay back in my hometown with same salary?

I got an offer from grab Singapore in Singapore with salary 30000 sgd per month and stocks extra . Should I leave India for Singapore . I was thinking of enrolling into a WeWork membership, and living in a coliving place or maybe just Zostel for a month to see if the whole setup works well enough or not.

Anyone has any experience with working at WeWork? How's the socialisation & networking there?

Also, are there any groups/communities of people that are into remote jobs and work together on let's say finances, taxation, etc, and ofc tech?
