WFH is not allowed during the notice period in most companies. Some companies will extend your NP if you WFH or take a leave.

Ok, but what are my options if I must take paternity leave and WFH for atleast 2 weeks out of 1 month NP? Is there anything that the company can refuse to give me, like experience certificate? I have some paid leaves. Can I utilise them in any way?

I have recently put papers in my current company, which I was part of for more than 8 years. Notice period is 1 month. Also, My wife is currently in her 9th month of maternity, and I want to spend time with her. Also, I need to take the paternity leave of 5 days during notice period. Will they allow it? My company has a policy of 3days a week compulsorily coming to office. Can I skip the that during notice period? What is the worst that could happen? Will they not give the relieving letter? This is my first switch, and not sure about the process. My managers were pissed that I chose to quit here, and are not that supportive now.
Any suggestions would greatly help.

I work for a start up and am currently on maternity leave. I am supposed to resume my work from the 2nd week of may. And My husband has to move to a different country for work. He is moving early next month.

So I will have to take care of some of his responsibilities here, while he is away from home. Having a 6 month old baby and my father in law to take care of as well. I have decided to take a break from my career and sort things out. Once my husband settles down, we will move there and then I'll start looking out for opportunities.

Now the question is, since I'm resigning during maternity leave and the project has no dependency on me. Can the manager or HR ask me to serve the notice?? Or will I be given an immediate release? 

I want an immediate release. Please advise!

I am currently serving on Notice Period in TCS. My Last Working Day is 08 Nov 2024. As per current policies we have to maintain 85% attendance in office (Work From Office), else the Performance Pay will be deducted. Also, I have heard that if we don't maintain 85% attendance during our Notice Period then TCS will extend our Notice period OR will create some other issues for leaving the company. Because of this, a lot of time gets wasted in travelling and I am unable to study to get new / better offers. Should I take the risk of not going to office OR will it create some problem for me? I am completely fine if they deduct variable pay

here is a question, with the current layoff situation peaking cross places, in the eventuality that a company decides to let you go, is it their benovalence that they expect you to not work in your notice period or is it that they are obligated to do so?

to add context:
1 they ask you to put in your papers
2. they also offer you to continue post notice on contract (but you are obviously bumped enough to not work there!)


 what is it that one can do to get off the work from day 1 of notice period?

I'm on notice period and I left my job because of the bad conditions and unhelpful team and messed up mental health. I have 2 months notice which started 3rd july

I wanted to know can the company do anything if my performance in notice period is bad. Basically if I get the work, I'll try to deliver but 8 won't be messing up my mental health if I'm not able to deliver.

I plan to simply say that, sorry i tried but I'm not able to figure it out. If someone helps me its fine and if not then I'll continue to say it.

Can the company do anything if I keep a good behaviour and not deliver tasks.

I asked early release from company. Notice period is 90 days but I want to leave in a month and willing to buyout notice period. But my manager is not approving. I have reason. I am relocating due to medical emergency in family and to take care of wellbeing of them. What should i do.? So I interviewed with a company two months ago, after all the formalities were done, I received a response from the HR that I have cleared all the rounds. But the requirements for the position they were hiring me for suddenly changed and they asked me to wait for a while until a new position positions opens up matching my tech stack. At that time I was about to be released from a project in my current company so getting the notice period reduced to 2 months was not that much of a hassle. 
Today, the HR called me again telling me that a new position has been opened up and if I am available to join I can join. My official period is of 90 days and now I have been allocated to a new project in my current company.
I have been wanting to switch since so long because of variety of reasons. But the problem now is the notice period in my current company. The HR is very strict about joining within the 60 days but I am not getting any vibe that my current manager is going to reduce my notice period.

Please suggest if there are any ways out of it.

I am currently serving my notice period (90 days). Had decided earlier to quit and then look for a role so that I can job hunt in relative peace without worrying about job performance (high impact and demanding role). Was interviewing with a bunch of startup’s and almost every hiring manager and HR asked about why are you quitting without an offer? Same people when I was interviewing while working were concerned about the 90 day notice. 

Is this considered as a concerning behaviour? Or just a negotiation tactic. 

Also, what is a correct response to this question in your opinion? The truth seems incredulous to these folks.
