I am currently serving on Notice Period in TCS. My Last Working Day is 08 Nov 2024. As per current policies we have to maintain 85% attendance in office (Work From Office), else the Performance Pay will be deducted. Also, I have heard that if we don't maintain 85% attendance during our Notice Period then TCS will extend our Notice period OR will create some other issues for leaving the company. Because of this, a lot of time gets wasted in travelling and I am unable to study to get new / better offers. Should I take the risk of not going to office OR will it create some problem for me? I am completely fine if they deduct variable pay

I have recently put papers in my current company, which I was part of for more than 8 years. Notice period is 1 month. Also, My wife is currently in her 9th month of maternity, and I want to spend time with her. Also, I need to take the paternity leave of 5 days during notice period. Will they allow it? My company has a policy of 3days a week compulsorily coming to office. Can I skip the that during notice period? What is the worst that could happen? Will they not give the relieving letter? This is my first switch, and not sure about the process. My managers were pissed that I chose to quit here, and are not that supportive now.
Any suggestions would greatly help.

My previous company laid me off and they have mentioned it in the relieving letter as well. I have got another offer from TCS, but they have reduced my expected CTC to almost half of what I was getting previously after I have shared by relieving letter with them. The reason that they quoted was you were laid off so we don’t want to hire such candidates. I am barely getting any other interview calls as well. Apart from that all my savings have exhausted and TCS is asking me to join the next week. Should I join TCS and leave them after few months once I find a better job? Because they are paying me much less here, and I have liabilities as well.. I couldn’t sustain in this less salary. And all my savings are almost over due to my own illness in the last few months. Will the previous company know that I have left TCS in just few months? In case if I don’t mention TCS in my resume and show all those months as year gap?

Hello, I have a query regarding to complete a certification (TCS wings) or not. Currently I am doing WFH because of family constraints, If I do certification, will TCS give promotion or delay by showing reason as WFH. 

My current situation is , I may go for Mtech next year, this year I got under 500 rank in gate. But that's not enough to join my aspirated institute in current year, I have to write the gate exam again. 

I am getting lot of thoughts, what if I wont get better rank? not able to take leave for preparation as well.

Certification or not

I applied for the opening at JPL (Jio Pvt Ltd) in June of last year. Received the interview call on 4th July and concluded the entire process with the final HR round on 17th August (already painfully slow).

This was followed by a period of complete silence from the HR's end, which finally broke on 30th September (after probably 30+ follow-ups) when they gave me a verbal offer and gave me confidence for the final offer release within a few days.

Well, the final offer came on 27th December 2023, close to 3 months after the verbal offer (again, after probably 40+ follow-ups). Joined on 16th January 2024 (due to some emergency), and was treated to a GREAT campus in Navi Mumbai. --And this is probably where everything good with JPL ends.

After spending 2 days, I understand that things are not what I expected from any Product organisation, and that I made the wrong decision. 

Gave myself 30 days to ensure the feelings were backed by more experiences, and I'm not acting impulsively. Day 31, I started interviewing with other organisations, and fortunately was able to get in touch with the HR from another organisation that I rejected for Jio, and they were kind enough to resend the offer letter.

Dropped the bomb on 8th March 2024, startling everyone because people usually don't like leaving their comfortable lives at Jio. My L1 and L2 aligned on a 14 days notice period, but the "smartasses" in the HR department thought its a great idea for me to serve the entire notice period of 60 days, and thus I'm stuck here till 6th May 2024.

AMA: Quit my job as a Product Manager at Jio within 2 months

I am a 4 YoE backend engineer on a Python stack. I feel I have a decent profile coz I have got calls from Bosch, L&T, Deloitte, Quantiphi, LTIMindtree and etc., but my profile didn’t get shortlisted every time just because of the 60 day's notice period. I even asked my friends for referrals to companies like Accenture and Infosys. Even after that, my profile also didn't get shortlisted.

Any suggestions? I want to change my company too.
