There has been an influx of 800K people every year in Bangalore for the past few years. It has definitely put a lot of pressure on the infrastructure and capacity the city can withstand. We have lost thousands of lakes due to encroachment in the name of development and the reason you see waterlogging during rains because most of the tech parks, malls, residential apartments are all built on the lake beds.
