I'm a '25 batch student and it's frustrating to see tech companies are mentioning "for 2023/2024 batch students only" in JD. Don't they wanna have a full time job rather than your 6 month internship after completing their course??

Can someone please explain why companies are still looking for 2023 grads for internships rather than 2024 & 25

2023 grad. Was selected in a company during on campus placement but they have delayed joining till 2024 stating business requirements and a dearth of projects. Came to know that they have again come for campus placements to hire 2024 grads from my college. What is this recruitment strategy? Will I get joining date ever?

Hey guys, I'm stuck in an MNC currently without any real world project for almost half an year now. I've been building projects on my own and looking for a switch. Since, situation in the market is a little tight, I'm hardly finding any non internship opportunities for freshers. Kindly let me know of any sources or any suggestions on how to move on from here. Seeing my friends getting fired from FAANG co. and still not get any other offer makes me more disheartened. Please help.

Talked to the son of my Dad's friend recently. Brilliant kid has a good GPA from IIIT-H + 2 research internships and 1 summer internship at good companies. He still can't find a "good" company to get into. 
(Side Note: "good" implies a high paying job relative to last couple of years)

Apparently, most of his friends in other colleges are in the same boat. Massive pay correction has happened.

The undergoing rationale is that companies hired Class of 2022 with no restraint because the demand was really strong during their placement season in 2021. This appears to be directly correlated with quantitative easing in the US and a low interest rate environment that was conducive to fundraising for several Series A+ startups.

By the time Class of 2022 entered the market, everything changed and they felt some short term change. However, Class of 2023 is having a much tougher time. They are shoved into the job market in a time where demand is low and they are competing with kids who graduated last year. 

Ongoing consensus appears to be that a huge chunk of their batchmates are going to get their Masters abroad. Their hope is that by the time they graduate out of grad school, the economy will pick up and demand will be strong while they're poised to take advantage of that with bump up credentials.

Unfortunately, this also implies that many of them will end up in the CPT-OPT-H1B-Green Card hell.

This is really a tough spot to be in.

So i have been searching for a job ,2023 grad ,curr working as cloud operations engineer. 
10 months into it , i knw people will ask why jump so soon ? So it’s definitely not about money , from the college I wanted learn and develop things but here i am not able to do because it’s a operation role .
 Looking a change and grow my skills in development field  , grow my self and my skills and be a bit happy about myself that yes i am learning and doing something that contributes. 
 Skills : C++, java , linux  , a bit of backend development,  ML & Data analyst 
Current salary : 8 lpa base 
I am looking for Some sde type role , compensation can be between 9-15 lpa

So GV community please drop such companies name where i can expland and grow my skills.

I am a final year computer engineering student and am currently looking for ML engineer or software engineer  opportunities, I have done two internships, one for 6 months as a backend developer and another as an ML Engineer for 10 months, I am an excellent learner and know python, Machine Learning, deep learning, NLP, TensorFlow, django, javascript, Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, Go etc and I can also learn any other language or tool or framework easily, so if you have an open position or you are hiring then please consider me. Why companies didn't hire a person with a gap year??

I'm currently in the Junior year of my college and I've received an internship offer as a SDE from one of the respected companies(hasn't laid off anyone yet). Since 2024 is the year I graduate, I was wondering what the scenario might be according to the people senior to me. Will we be a victim to the situation as well! The terror is for real :/

At this point in time, a lot of graduates who graduated into the pandemic job market have serious pay parity between those before them and after them. 

Base pay for pandemic grads were atleast slashed by 60%, and most of us were likely we even got a job back then to gain some experience. Now with atleast 3-4 years of experience in our bag, freshers get way more than us. 

Why don't companies roll-back how they view pandemic graduates and pay them what they deserve?
