Why is it that some men show too much interest in you for initial few weeks, like asking for ig and then ig messages. Seeing your stories just about the instant you post it. They tell you about their last break up they can't get over with but still tell you that falling in love is the most beautiful part of life and talk about wanting to settle down - until the time you show interests and hola! I turned 25 a few months back. I am balding from my college days. During the lockdown, it was somehow accelerated and lost most of the hair line. Now i look like a person with male pattern baldness who has lost his almost all hair. 

Baldness is hereditary in my family. My head almost looks like my fathers head, who is also bald. 

I always knew that I would go bald someday but never imagined that it would be at 25. 

Though i don't hide it by anything. I go in public openly and try to be as confident as much as possible, but sometimes I feel very sad as people generally stare and don't usually talk normally. Some relatives even tell it on my face that who is going to marry you. This generally brings down my confidence.

Career wise, i am doing pretty good. Earning good money. 

Some people say go for hair transplant, but to be very honest, I don't feel it is worth spending money on the hair, which at the end going to vanish only due to hereditary reasons.

I have almost accepted the way I look now, but  become very anxious when I think about getting married. I'm not sure if somebody is going to accept me the way I look. 

What would be your advice for me? How should I deal with it so that it does bother me again and again.

I believe men are becoming increasingly conscious of their appearance and it’s quite evident on GV as well. Working out, getting in shape is only L1 problem, personal care goes beyond working out. But there are two problems when men want to start personal care (skin,hair, body)

1. Lack of knowledge. Where to start? How to start? Which products to use? What is Vitamin C? WTF is a hyaluronic acid?

2. If #1 is sorted, then the second problem is laziness. I spoke to 220+ men and 70% spend only spend or want to spend 10-20 mins/day on personal care.

I plan to solve this by,

1. Content. Becoming an education first brand. Best example is Ditto Insurance, they’re more of an advisor than a Insurance selling company. A good example in D2C space is The Whole Truth. I want to educate men about personal care. I want to build a brand that men turn to when starting their personal care journey. 

2. Innovative products & Functionality. Men would benefit a lot from serum but they don’t use it primarily because the hassle of using a dropper, rubbing it on your face is too much. We’ll innovate how these products are made. Easy to use. 


I’ve dropped a full-time job offer to build this right out of college. Borrowed 10L from F&F. Registered the company and on-boarded a few kickass people to create content. Hope all goes well. I’ll keep sharing the progress here :)

DINKs, (dual income no kids) have been gaining traction a lot lately. I want to know from the members of gravevine, what are their views on being a DINK couple or a DINKWAD( double income no kids with a dog). From financial prospects like having a huge disposable income to emotional aspects like not having a legacy or going against custom Indian tradition. Do share your thoughts 🤔💭

What are your thoughts about being DINKS?

We are a DINK couple (live-in, will get married soon) and absolutely no plans to have kids. Maybe be a DINKWAD someday by adopting an indie. Also no plans to buy a home or spend on our marriage. This is not a financial decision (both of us are doing decently well in our careers) but we don't want to have a child knowing how nothing around is improving and we don't want to sacrifice the best years of our lives by doing this. We are building a large corpus to be financially independent and travel without any financial restrictions.

This post might sound funny, but some real advice would be quite appreciated.
Lately of all things I'm insecure about, me not having a beard at this age of 28 is bothering me the most. 
My peers say I look like a college kid. In fact once at my office party at a bar, one guy from the staff specifically asked for my Aadhar in front of my manager and team(They all were laughing like crazy 😑)
Similar incidents happen to me every once in a while.
Putting this post out to seek suggestions on practical ways to have a beard at this age and how to go about this situation holistically.

If you wanna go for arrange marriage, get married now, or atleast start looking. It's disgusting but the arranged marriage scene works like a market, and the value tends to drop the closer you're to 30. Options decrease as age goes up. 
  
 If you wanna go for love marriage, find someone you love and chill.

I can't seem to relate to much of the non-FAANG junta out there. I mean I have a cushy job with probably 0.1% pay of all SWEs(pretty much like all of us do). But these cookie-cutter roles have been taking a mental toll on me. Like I am getting paid but I feel a little purpose-less. What am I gunning for in this life? 

All my life I wanted to go to a good college to get into a good company. In college I wanted to get a good codeforces rank so that I could get into FAANG. Now that I am in FAANG I have nothing to look forward to. 

Any of you all feeling this way? Because I don't see myself offer-shopping and feeling much happy about that either.

Recently watched Soul on hotstar and this actually makes sense now. The character was trying hard to perform in front of a crowd and  when it happened he wasn't feeling any change at all. At that time, he was told about the fish and the ocean story :-

As a guy, I'd just say "Hi" if I ever come across a hot woman. And then make the situation awkard and leave like most men do.

When I asked this question to my female friends they were like , we just roll our eyes and wait for him to approach us (why behen why)

Or perhaps they get anxious about their looks or clothing (ghar ke kapdo me crush ne dekh liya wala pain)

I don't understand why. Who taught us to be like that?
