Quite confused why the rebranding is taking place. 
Twitter is such a good brand name, everybody gets it, and has positive blue colours too. 

X seems to be something very random. Almost instantly it does not reflect what the product would be. 

It’s great to see that Elon Musk takes audacious bets all the time, but it’s starting to feel like he’s someone who lacks any sense of how user’s think. This could be costly for Twitter as multiple of these changes compound.

- Since its 2021 launch, X has generated around $200 million in in-app purchase revenue across iOS and Android.

- Despite the relaunch of Twitter Blue as X in December 2022, the service only brought in $11 million in mobile app subscriptions in the first three months.

Headcount decreased from 145 to 80 with the target of bringing it to 50. Ceo is a dumbo with no clear understanding of product and future. They launched a new product called Verk which was an AI agent that could do tasks of all kind for you but in background they hired cheap labour to do those tasks manually. Total sham. They aggressively hired across verticals for it and when the bubble burst and investors whopped asses of Ceo and cto (who is a co-founder but just follows master’s orders) by asking them not to use funds raised for a different product to fund this new sham product, they fired people within 2-3 days. Extraordinary performers were let go of just because of office politics and bootlicking by non performing old timers. Btw some founding members also resigned citing future difficulties since this is the 7th pivot they are taking. Founder ensures no firings will happen and then fires folks the next day. Sham company. Beware before joining!

No idea about the full extent of layoffs, seems like either a PR play to tackle leaked layoff news or doing the whole airbnb style 'helping employees land their next gigs'

I'm finding it difficult to understand the situation. A friend, who is a BI developer, was laid off by PayPal, and on the same day, my wife received a call from them for the same role.

Next: The hiring manager is pressuring her to complete all interview rounds (4) within 2 days, even making remarks about her inability and calling her unprofessional and showing lack of interest for not completing assignments on weekdays.

What's up with PayPal (and hiring team)?

Paypal has a really good work culture and work life balance. I'm currently working on state of the art products, so even the work is very good. Leadership has some problems but overall I think it's good. But the only problem I see is less pay compared to the market average, which is kinda frustrating.

Hi,
I have been reached out for a PM 3 level role in PayPal. Need help with below things from Grapevine family.

1) What should be the salary expectations if I am having 8 years of experience post MBA.
2) How is the work culture in PayPal, Banglore location to be precise.
3) How does the hierarchy for a PM look like in PayPal, while the role is PM 3 role, not sure if I should ask for a higher designation.
4) What does the interviews look like, how should I prepare? 
5) Any other feedback on PayPal would be helpful.

Can anyone explain what is happening and why it is such a big deal?

Some context - 
 Disney and apple are known to be pro left wing. These include ideologies around equality, feminism, LGBTQ rights etc which you can see in some of their shows/movies. 
  
 Elon Musk has centre - right ideologies. 
  
 Disney recently removed ads from X (Twitter) because Elons ideologies do not match theirs (an anti semantic tweet by Elon is the reason they gave for removing their ads) 
  
 Elon called them out in an interview that these companies try to "look good" in public but are actually "evil". These can be seen in some of their movies or cast where they say they promote feminism but are borderline Misandry. 
  
 Elons of the opinion that these companies use their Money and influence to force their ideologies onto people. 
  
 He said that the people can see what's happening will decide which side they are on. 
 Some of these people have cancelled their Disney plus subscription because they agree with Elon

Someone tell this guy the bitter truth that success have very less to do with your talent and hard work. 

Clarity of career path > Contacts > randomness of life > hard work > talent

She was pretty which is an inherent gene just like your IQ. 
 Why should we glorify intelligent ugly ladies over hot dumb ladies? 
 Both are playing the cards dealt to them.
