Y'all don't appreciate managers enough

Don't get me wrong. Bad managers are bad managers, and there's absolutely no justification for that.

But I've often seen that folks have zero idea of what their manager actually do, especially in Tech. Truth be told, there's a lot of things that managers have to do which simply happens in the background, and hence, people are not aware of it.

I read this book a few years ago which absolutely changed my perspective and made me respect my management more. Highly recommend you read it. You'll get fantastic insights on how to be a good manager, the advices written in the book can be applied in your personal (interpersonal relationships) and professional (applies both to individual contributors and managers) life.

I appreciate my manager for giving me the opportunities but not for mood swings.

A manager might be good or bad but he/she is certainly unnecessary.

Wrote this book summary about Jungle Book - https://talesofss.com/book-summary-hidden-business-lessons-in-the-jungle-book/

This summarises my opinion on all "leadership/management" books (apart from biopics)

There are a few non fiction which loved though - Indian Unbound, Marketing Warfare, Outliers
