What defines a good manager?

As I read few posts about leadership styles, rants about pathetic managers. Since this platform has a combination of managers & freshers/reportees.

Just thought to know what defines a good manager.

Also would like to know from people who are in the leadership role - What makes you think you are a good manager & what is that one thing u want to do to make others life better at office.
