Jack of all trades: Any space left for generalists anymore?

Hey guys, I'm stuck in an MNC currently without any real world project for almost half an year now. I've been building projects on my own and looking for a switch. Since, situation in the market is a little tight, I'm hardly finding any non internship opportunities for freshers. Kindly let me know of any sources or any suggestions on how to move on from here. Seeing my friends getting fired from FAANG co. and still not get any other offer makes me more disheartened. Please help.

Hey folks, recently have found myself on career crossroads. Not sure what kind of career paths generalists have after certain YoE. Are there some generalists on the platform with more than 6-7 YoE who can throw light on what kind of roles are available to generalists after a certain level? Ideally, would want to look at big tech cos. Current profile: 5yrs post mba work ex in consulting + startups.

I have been actively applying for marketing jobs, the situation seems very dismal. Packages are pretty low, companies are not ready to pay above 12 lpa. Without an MBA, you will suffer. With an MBA, you will suffer but will have a loan to make life worse. What to do in the next one year to earn more than 30 lakhs

I am a FullStack engineer working at a startup with 1 YOE, lately I have realised that there are more specialist roles (Frontend/SRE) in most companies and are paid really well. I really like working FullStack (Typescript with Node/PHP) and am wondering if I'll have to become a specialist in order to have a well paid job in future 🤔 ?

What do you think guys is it always the best idea 😜 ?

First time posting here looking for advice I am a 25 YO, working in an MNC (3+ Years experience) Now here is what I have done in my last 3 years of work I can code fluently in Python and have managed a team of devs to work on 2 different applications I have extensive no-code application building experience - applications being used by over 3000+ people I have Project Manager as a designation but have done both product and project roles over the last 3 years So I mostly say - I can solve problems from End 2 End from finding it, understanding it and solving it (and if required build something to solve it)I mostly work with CXO (read 25 years+ experience senior leaders in the industry) but now I don't know what's next I am eligible for a lot of roles between - strategy, technical project management and product managers But mostly recruiters are like - "You don't have a defined experience in one field except mostly problem solving" or I am too young for a TPM role etc. Badly need advice to understand what's next and also where to look for the next thing

I have been working as full stack developer past 7 years in stacks like react, react native , flutter, spring boot , nest, graphql so on and so forth. So far being generalist has worked for me as I am never out of projects. However recently I met one Engineering manager who advised me to become a specialist in one domain for better growth going forward . How do you all see this specialist vs generalist idea ?

I have 7+y exp as full stack developer experience, currently in a consultant position with a total of 27 Lpa in which 23.5 is fixed. Now I wanted to switch the organization as I am not getting recognition. My technology stack is Angular in which I am an Expert. Nest Js, Node Js mongo db are my other skills. I did work with Flask no Python interested to work on it. JavaScript HTMl Material UI Aws code commit, Azure jenkins Or my other skill set. So please suggest to me how much I can expect the package with the current trend.

I work as a software engineer (Backend) at a startup ( valued over $200m). Most of my revolves around designing and building applications using python based frameworks (Django, flask, fast api). Integrating AI models to the backend, not so exciting but yeah I do. Also, deploying them in Google cloud and setting up the cloud infrastructure. Occasionally I do write load testing scripts using Gatling. At times I feel like I'm not doing any deep tech work and I'm bored. Most of the days I have zero motivation to do anything. How's the life of people doing deep tech at work? What am I missing? What should I focus on? I wonder if I'm underpaid at times (18 lpa) (exp - 4yrs). How should I move forward with regards to my career?

Hi, I am a software engineer with around 4 years of experience working in a small service based company. My current salary is 8.4lpa. I am working on Magento 2. I have basic knowledge in React Js. No DSA or System Design knowledge. How can acheive my goal of making 24lpa within 1 year. Can anyone give me the path which I can follow to acheive my goal? Thanks
