People at Big Techs, how to get shortlisted(SWE)?
I am a SWE (full stack) with ~2.5 YOE from a Tier 1 college with tier 2-3 startup experience. People from Big tech, how do I get shortlisted? How to increase my observability?
I work in a startup, been here for around 3 yrs. I have been applying continuously for a long time and am not even getting an interview call (Even with referrals sometimes)... Is it my resume? But ATS parses it just fine? Maybe I have too much written in it. I don't have a flashy college, company. That clearly hurts my chances, but what could I do now?
I'm working on random projects I find interesting on the side, and thinking of posting some on linkedin for now. What else do you think I should do?
Referrals - Try to get direct ones. Someone you know from the team they mostly convert to interview
Open source - people love engineers who do open source
Resume - Write bullet points which convey the change that your code has brought in, instead of just code
