DESIGNER'S - What's on your mind?

I recently had the chance to interact with a couple of product designers from the Bangalore startup scenes. The huddle also included a few who are quite active on the LinkedIn community - where they constantly talkabout craft, user empathy, design principles and what not!
But when you really listen to what they are saying - they are just all fluff and no meat. They just want to beautify things for the sake of it. There’s no depth in understanding the users.
When asked “What measures do you take to empathise with the users?”, this senior and ‘awarded’ designer casually answered - “ We just go with the VIBE!”
I MEAN, REALLY?
Looks like the marketing effort that goes into building their social profile is all these designers care about.
The future of UXD scares me. Sorry for the betrayal, users. 💀
Ask these 10k designers cohort graduates. These mfs have cracked his really nice viral loop. Through content attract gullible kids and make them pay for a course. Then 1% of them get into good companies through their own hustle. Make these 1% students into mentors who will upsell this to new cohorts.
Welcome to the next generation of Ponzi schemes.
I’ve seen people becoming senior director of product design while having no portfolio, bo proof of work nothing but by sharing random design articles online linkedin an praising someones else’s work. Now I’m confident that this is the only way to move up the ladder and I’m going to start this soon.
fake it till you make it - still works I guess

UX design was glorified even more by few design in...
