Applying through referrals but not getting calls | Roast my resume
Have been applying in various openings through referral but no calls yet.
I have applied to many companies by asking for referrals through LinkedIn. No doubt, people are helpful they have helped by referring me,but still I'm not getting any interview calls."
Lot of companies have internal firings , ie there are decent pool inside the org readily available. And for a single job posting , the number of resumes getting now is not less than 100 . Too bad market out there. Especially for freshers.
So is there any way other than luck to get shortlisted 🙃
Try reaching out directly to senior engineering leaders via email or linkedin and get your profile noticed or reach out to CXOs of the startups. Try applying to roles where there are fewer applicants. Even if your profile is excellent, there's a high chance it will get buried
Referring probably doesn’t work in most companies because of the volume! Bigger the company, lesser the chance the referral portal works.
If a team is hiring for a role and you get referred by the manager, there is a higher chance of you getting interviewed. I’ve referred 6 people to Infosys, only 1 has been able to turn it into an interview and even then, they rejected him.
5 profiles the status was unchanged for close to 10 months and then suddenly closed one day saying the candidate isn’t suitable. They didn’t even bother interviewing.
All the jobs that I’ve referred to were relatively fresh (1-2 weeks old).

Daily I see some posts on some senior engineering people joining rippling. It may be some Senior engineer or Senior Manager.

Can some people from rippling confirm these ?
