Any founders working domains of Computer Graphics, Augmented/Virtual Reality, Metaverse)?

I joined my first job 2 months ago and am already bored. The work is monotonous and barely requires intellectual effort or creativity.

I have been interested in Graphics and AR/VR since my initial year in college. And feel like I should take a leap of faith and join someone trying to build something exceptional in this field.

Looking to know and connect with people trying to do something related to this.

I've been learning closely the aspects of ux of ar/vr and navigating 3d planes, it started with me questioning how an app in the social media niche will be navigated ? And then as I got the answers to a few things it all seemed like we had a pretty good idea of how we navigate in 3d planes by creating a 2d plane (screens) similar to what apple vision pro showed in demos, i still don't know what'll that application that'll hook millions of people to AR? For VR it can be something like a really polished version of vrchat, say gta 6 in VR but with actual people but Ar seemed speculative, if you think about these systems are functioning as a screen right? Then any app can be adapted to AR with low opacity? Related to this then I figured if there'll be true AR applications they'll be something like CHATgpt with computer vision and Voice interface and then it's full sci-fi. But imagining user experience for such systems is what I like to work on specifically, a part of the reason is rn for me to create something in VR/Ar is not possible due to limited compute of my machine with no dedicated graphics card.

Btw it's crazy how close we're too these tech, mass adoption is something i doubt whole heartedly like it took jio, for us to glue our phone to our faces like it had to be that economical which i doubt can be achieved with ar not with current state of productions in this space. I don't know if it helps or not I'm a student (not a engg grad) with some relevant experience in the UX part but nothing too substantial.

I was initially hoping it to be the big game changer but my expectations have died down significantly on seeing the cost. Still, it's something that will push the boundaries of AR/VR and definitely help develop the industry.

Their focus on productivity and entertainment as opposed to gaming and social interaction done by Meta is quite interesting. These two giants working on solving different problems is quite interesting and will hopefully lead to good competition.

Also, hardware wise, it's a great product. It has got features (like spatial audio) which are essential for VR but weren't present in most other headsets yet. Plus if apple can get good content to be on their platform (like they usually do), the product can end up dominating a niche of enthusiasts.

just found this resource, it talks about how AR will be able to help us transition into a new space and provide the social media experience in more personalized and subjective manners, Hyperlocal spaces will blend in with real-world spaces that'll open up new experiences. I just hope the echo chamber social media created doesn't get more closed off from how we perceive the world but that's just wishful thinking. here's the source https://youtu.be/wsFOLf1WvNs?si=tUzC5zJtKNjlW2D9

I feel, the type of changes mentioned in the video are atleast 20 years still too far. It will definitely happen someday, just not now.
