Anyone negotiated salary few days before joining?

Hi, I have an offer from Company A and my joining date is in next 2 weeks. But just last friday i got another offer from Company B with much higher salary than A.

But I have interest to work on Company A. Do you think I could negotiate with Company A so close to the joining? Has anyone done it before and what was your result? I'm worried if they may rescind the offer if I asked. Appreciate if anyone could shed some light on how to approach this.

Thanks.

If you’re willing to give up the offer, go for it

Sorry I didn't get. Did you mean there's risk of offer getting rescinded if I go for negotiating?

Yes, even if you were super good with strong yes in all rounds, I would have revoked the offer. If someone offers further higher and a decent company, in blink of an eye you would leave, you are a flight risk to begin with.

Shoot your shot. It’s a 4 lpa difference so be ready to loose it if you really want to join company A.
Your pitch should be to the HR saying -
Hi esteemed HR person,

During the course of my job hunt, I have received a competitive offer from an organisation which is X lpa. While the offer looks good monetarily I am still interested in joining your org due to xyz reasons. So I wanted to check if you would be having some room to match the offer or offer other perks like JB, higher RSUs, more paid leave etc. Again reiterate the interest in the organisation.

The negotiation will depend on a lot of factors. Their budget, and competing candidates, ego, etc. But they will not try to loose on a good final candidate for a couple of lakhs.

YOE and stack?

Yeah, especially in this market there are too many options available for the company, candidates having more YOE, lower compensation. Also, depends on how aggressively company A is hiring.
