Appreciating the effort our parents put in

Was walking through this aisle today which has all birthday decorations and supplies Paper plates, hats, weird colourful things that kids like Stuff you buy as return gifts

I got those for my birthdays, and mom would even cook snacks for my "friends"

There would be cake (cakes were/are expensive I know now) These all are expensive, honestly, a waste of money. I wouldn't buy for my birthday

Our Parents did though, such a waste! They did more than we would do for ourselves

I miss those days sometimes. We used to have so much fun back then in our birthdays. Friends would come, we would play, chat and whatnot. Life was simple back then. Maybe we became too "busy" (at least that's the excuse we give ourselves) to enjoy the simple things or go back to that time to plan something for ourselves. Same for me as well, nowadays I would rather spend my birthday alone than do some celebration just for me 😅

Times have changed. Those born in 90s or earlier have had a great life tbh. There was limited money, everyone was middle class 😞

If possible try to throw your parents a birthday party with people they like (they can be relatives or friends or both).

They might advise or warn or scold you to not do it again ever, but that one time party will also be cherished by them for the lifetime.
