Are boomers really needed if they don't have skills ?

Today on Saturday I got a call from office grandma ( 20 years in same company) , she started arguing that I didn't sent her the update and showed me her what's app screenshot. I noticed that there is no net sign on top near battery indicator. What the hell, why companies keep such people , they have 0% technology knowledge, can't use decent tools , don't know gmail interface . Why the hell ?

In case you forgot, boomers created the internet, the wireless telephony, aviation, high speed rail and the list goes on and own. You also have to appreciate that cognitive powers go down with age and it happens to everyone. I read your comments and it seems you are proud to be born in 1997 and proud to be a self taught person. This is arrogance at peak. Never ever forget the number of people from whom you learnt. There were people who taught you to sit to walk to ride bike to write alphabets to learn to sit still in class to everything.
Do change your attitude and learn compassion if you want to go far in life.

PS: I do face problems once in a while in wading through the apps these days and my son helps me out. But I work in developing technology that you will use 20 years from now.

You are just an arrogant person and time is a great teacher. Be around for 50 60 years and you will realise the words that I said.

This post made me want to puke. It’s as if like you are perfect and will never ever make a mistake in life. Calling someone with 20 yrs of experience a grandma? Mofo, you seem like someone who’ll never progress in his/her career. Ever saw a successful leader, ceo, cto behaving like this?

Go ahead puke on yourself.

Simple question - why do you think she's persisting in her role if you think she has no skills? Do you think she's bringing anything on the table with her experience? Or she's just filling her time because she'll retire soon.

Now this is a constructive and intelligently articulated question ! I loved the words. Thank you for giving a new angle of thinking.
