It is not the usual society rule, but I have had this longing of own house. Childhood was spent I government house, adjusting with members of family. Now I am earning fine, will have 20% of loan in liquid cash by end of year. But I also have practicality now. No fancy house are spared in these rains, there are so many repairs - one thing is repaired, second one goes down then third then fourth, bigger the house more you have to clean - wtf is this dist coming from, then you have asshole neighbours. And be scared what if there's a fire, robbery, calamity. I had just one dream, but really rethinking the whole plan now. So lost to be honest.

What is the current scene of buying property in India. In my hometown (second tier city) I have seen property prices shoot up by as high as 20% CAGR in the last two years. I expected the price to come down with weak global markets and layoffs in metro cities but the stickiness is still there. Is this also the scene in Tier 1 cities? And why is the rate so much higher than the 5-6% these finfluencers and investment gurus keep saying? Is there any possibility of a downturn in prices?

Which cities in India have you lived in? Which one did you like the best? Where did you find the best people? Which city is best for hustle for 25-30 year olds? Any perspective on any city is welcome here. Curious to hear what people have to say. Thanks in advance.

Folks who bought real estate in Bangalore (primarily for living in it), what are some things that you wish you knew earlier before buying the property? Also what are some things you would advise to new folks who are looking to buy property now? I’ve been looking to buy a flat and have mostly finalised on A+ builder(Prestige) society but wanted to hear from experienced folks once. And I’m not a huge fan of taking hefty loans so planning to do around 50% in down payment and 50% in loan which I will aim to finish within 5 years. Is this a good approach??

With rising prices of properties and houses, my dream of building a home will remain dream for me. When will that day come when common people will be able to buy property. All good properties are worth more than 1.3 cr. Home loan is also joke. For property worth 1 cr. You will pay double the amount as interests. How many people here have completed their dream of buying property without home loan. I don't want to take home loan as our jobs are very unpredictable. Any time any one can get laid off. Will we be able to buy our own home ever?

I've got a package around 40 LPA with 4 yrs exp, with 1.8L as take home Now, my parents are looking to buy a house at my home town (tier 2 city). It costs around 65L, so have to a loan of around 50L which will be around 65k EMI every month for the next 10 years Also I'm passionate about working on side projects doing some part time gigs, share around 40k to my family for their needs. This house loan will have a burden on me for sure, do you think it's the right decision to take home now or maybe postpone it to later?
