I think the best thing you can do is try connecting with the founder outside your normal schedule. Try going out for team dinner etc. I have personally witnessed that creating a rapo with the founder improves the kind of projects you start getting. Also, since you are in the founder's office position (like I am, in my current role), go and talk to people around the company and try solving bottlenecks.

As far as what I have observed, they function as a visiting card Mera naam ballu hai Meri ek taang nakli hai Mai hockey ka bohot bada khiladi tha Ek din Uday bhai ko meri kisi baat pe gussa aagaya toh meri hee hockey stick se mere hee taang ke chaar tukde kar diye lekin dil ke bure nai hai foran hospital legaye nayi taang lagvai yeh stick di thoda kharcha diya aur....

Founders don't know what founders office people are supposed to do. In the best case the person figures out for himself how to add value, worst case he becomes a glorified errand boy, with a really f-ed up work life balance. And of course takes minutes.
