Just wanted to know your thoughts as an Interviewer.??

I believe most of the questions available on the internet are quite redundant to test someone's system design knowledge. I'm not looking for typical questions like building YouTube/Instagram/Whatsapp, which are only for beginners. I'm looking for questions which you are able to answer on the basis of your personal experience, in depth questions. e.g how did you use indexing/sharding/query optimisation/rate limiting etc in your project? what would you do in a so&so situation? the questions which show me whether a person has actually worked on the systems instead of just having the theoretical knowledge. I know it depends on how the interviewer asks the question, because it's supposed to be vague but I'm still looking for very specific questions. So please tell me, what are such questions which you like to ask someone or the questions which you were asked in an interview ? or just share your interesting system design interview experience, would be helpful to others.

Thoughts on interview as a service companies?

I'm having 1.5 years of experience and want to switch to Data science/ML profile I have relevant data analysis experience which used data base, python and Excel for analysis rest I have build models using machine learning. What interview questions should I expect?

So basically I don't hesitate in challenging the interviewer if I feel like they don't know how to interview a senior candidate so during many interviews, this is how I have caught them off guard: 1. The interviewer was asking me technical questions and expecting to explain properly throughout. So at the end i asked him about the tech stack they use, he said Azure. I asked him why they use Azure and not AWS, to which he said "it's cheaper", i didn't let it go, i asked him for a proper technical explanation, his red face was worth seeing. 2. The interview asked me a hard DSA question, and I wasn't able to solve it properly, he didn't even give me enough hints, just expected me to solve it. So halfway I asked him, would you like to solve a DSA if I ask you right now, he said no because it's not his interview. To which I asked, are you afraid that you won't be able to solve? If you are going to reject me for not solving this question, would you resign if you aren't able to solve the question. He ended the call. 3. One interviewer was asking me absurd technical detailed questions. I asked him why are you asking such questions, he said he needs to know my thought process because he will work with me. I started asking him similar questions, he said he won't answer because it's not his interview. I said I also need to know your thought process because we'll work together, so you should also answer these questions, he had no reply. 4. The interviewer asked me about a challenging project that I had done recently. I don't like this question at all. So I said there wasn't any challenging project because I'm good at what I do so it's always easy for me. He moved on to the next question. 5. HR asked me why I resigned without an offer? I asked if it's mandatory? No reply.

Typically I never see an interviewer turn up on time. I mean it's like you spend an hour or more beating the traffic, and then locating the venue, and then trying to find a place to park your vehicle. After all the trouble, you find that the interviewer is "busy" so please wait. Sometimes the wait turns out so annoying, when you see the staff there running around busy or rather "looking busy". No one bothers to answer your query, they are just running around. Some interviewers just try to bully you. Even when you are right, they are hell bent on proving you are wrong. Of course there are some who will try putting you down as much as they can, to the extent of destroying your confidence. That itself is a red flag never to join that company. Worst experience I had with TCS, the panel was filled with some old uncles, who kept asking everything except what was related to my field. Yeah once was asked about bridges too. The walk in drives are the worst of the lot. More often than not chaotic and messy, stand in long Qs, some volunteers trying to look important. And endless wait for your turn. Go to one of them be prepared to spend all day there. Do share your interview experiences.

P.S. Not GenZ, but relate to vibe as a concept I've interviewed with multiple companies, and I'm starting to notice a pattern. Interviewers who: - Have their cameras off - Show up in old t-shirts, looking like they haven't washed their face or combed their hair - Roll their eyes when the answer isn't what they wanted to hear - Fidget around when you are speaking - Look anywhere but at the camera - Give in to itches all over the body 👀 among many others If we as interviewees are expected to be presentable and excited, the least interviewers could do is put in a little effort to appear decent and engaged.

Context: I had put out a message seeking newer projects, and a certain person reached out. They have over 20+ yrs of exp and run their own boutique consultancy. The role they had envisioned fit perfectly that I was looking for. Interview: We spoke over an hour, discussing the role, my top skills that would be beneficial, future prospects, where I see myself beyond work. Genuinely good conversation. The person concludes the Interview and I quote "Now that I have met you, I can definitely say the pictures you have over your social media and website do not do justice to how you look. You have many photogenic angles that you should explore" Shock was understatement I steered the conversation towards how it is essential for my personal brand building and I have it in my consideration. (I believe I handled it well) P.S. Anyone who supports this because it was just appreciating beauty - wrong place wrong time and also wrong person. P.P.S. Time to get a photoshoot done!

I have a job interview coming up and want to get everything right this time. Would appreciate any suggestions. I usually start by telling where I've done my college from and then talk about the work I've done at my current firm. Anything more that I should add?

Recently I have been interviewed by a company and cleared the first round. Then I had 2nd round of the interview conducted through intervue.io which is a outsourced platform. The interviewer was least bothered to know what I am doing in my current role and how I can contribute to org but only conducted interviews by posting code snippet to solve. Do you think it is right way to conduct interviews? Please share your experience
