Bad life advice that you ignored

Get married when you are in "the age"

Work even harder on notice period as they will remember last impression and don't burn bridges (which means never stand up for yourself)

1. Marry for only love without seeing financial security
2. Marry a woman/man your parents chosen for you.
3. Never work for Startup. Only go for MNC.
4. Your parents and relatives - all good people and they will guide you to your best interest
5. Giving money to relatives/friends in need is best deed.
6. After 60, you can enjoy life. Until then, save, save , save. Don't go for vacation
7. Always be people pleaser.
8. Respect relatives and parents even when they are wrong.
9. Be a open book.

These are bad advice given to me, which I am ignoring after getting affected by taking them seriously

I know one piece of advice that everyone here ignored. The advice is to work 70 hours a week by Mr.Narayan Murthy.

I'm from 90s and one of my dad's friends advised my dad to get us admitted into UP board Hindi medium schools because that was the future according to him. He almost got us admitted but somehow dad later got us into less popular English medium cbse schools.

1 .Beta You are young , prepare for Government jobs. Ye product management/management consulting me koi scope nhi h , you are wasting your time , bagal wale shukla ji ko dekho unka ladka loco pilot h Indian railways me

2. Stay in India , what's the need to go US/Europe for higher studies and then stay there for 5-10 years before coming back. ( I would love to hear the opinions of my fellow GRAPEVINERS on this)

3. Get married within a year or two , we have a good girl for you ( advised by elders and family pandit)

Always grateful to my parents for ignoring what everyone else was saying and believing in me
