Big tech have started slashing diversity related jobs in USA

The budgets have been cut for diversity hiring. This is also in response to a lawsuit from conservative groups. Is it happening in IDCs too? They realised how shitty some women coders hired in the name of diversity hiring were 🤡

Some of the best coders and system architects I have worker with are women. But yes, handing off jobs just because of someone's sexual orientation is not justified imo.

Diversity hiring also brings greener grass on other side, shitty ones are churned out they don't survive for long.

@tbk they should, I have seen many juniors of mine being denied an interviewing chance... even though they have the skills. I find it unfair.

Not because of lawsuits but because they were ineffectual. DEI heads expected to get budgets from the company without any fight or justification and when they didn’t, they complained to the media or did nothing. (At senior level you have to fight for the budget for your department.). Many could not effect any change cos they never played the corporate game, didn’t understand the workings, and expected the jobs to be easy. When it was abundance, companies kept them for pr value. In austerity, they just let them go. You always need to have skills and brinkmanship to effect change. That’s learned while being under someone like that in those jobs.

Lawsuits will still come. That’s not to do with DEI heads and specific positions. But a broader policy. Same is gonna happen with ethics and safety teams in due time.
