Do EY really retain there employee? Let’s say I got a offer and now I want to put down my paper due to low hike and no permotion in EY GDS. Will ET try to retain me ?

I feel answer varies for each case.
Not sure about GDS. But in normal client facing team, my friend was told that he/ she will be promoted next year. Although I have seen multiple times that putting pressure doesn't work. Org's ego is always bigger than individual's ego.
My exp. they do retain but bargain alot and no benefits major provided, better to move ahead
