Cashback apps recommendations

Hello Everyone, Apart from CRED which other apps are you guys using for making UPI payments and/or online money transactions/transfers and are you getting any kinds of cashback/rewards, if at all?

Would love to know about your experiences 😀

P.S: I have the below apps and none of them are giving much cashbacks except CRED and that too in pennys: Cred, Paytm, Phonepe, Fi, Gpay, Amazon Pay, Payzapp, Simpl.

I want to go back to those golden days of Tej 😁 cashbacks wherein we used to get cashbacks for every transaction

I already have an ICICI Amazon Pay credit card bro. Plus the problem in applying new credit cards is that, i don't have a surname in any of my legal documents(My family has a surname 😅) and I get stuck in the application phase itself.
They ask for names as per PAN card and without surname, the software doesn't allow me to proceed further. Even If I enter my surname and proceed, it will fail in KYC 😭. But, thanks for the suggestion bro 🙂

Tata Neu Rupay Card and Super money. Tata Neu only allows payments to merchants and Super money is a clean app, even though cashback is very negligible, better than CRED which over gamified the app unnecessarily.

Better than cred??? Then definitely, I will check it out 😃. Where to apply for the Tata Neu Rupay card?

Better => Simple, No distractions, does what is needed. You can apply for a tata neu card in the Tata Neu app. Go for an infinity card if you are eligible

How are the cashbacks? I mean how does it work? Like points for cash or we need to redeem the points in merchant outlets/apps?

DancingCupcake

It's kiwi point for upi on credit card, 1% cashback
2 kiwi coins for 50, 4 kiwi coins = ₹1
It goes upto 5% based on milestone

ignore all the options, and just download POP. I have been using pop for around 6 months now, and here is why I recommend everyone to move to pop upi

Firstly, you get 2% rewards on every UPI transaction, even on regular peer to peer UPI transfers.

Secondly, if you by luck get the Pop Club rupay credit card with Yes Bank, then you can get 5% rewards on all Rupay UPI spends on Pop but here is an exciting twist.

this 5% is additional rewards on top of the regular credit card rewards, i.e., 10% on online spends, and 2% on offline spends.

do technically, if you pay through UPI on your regular panwadi, you get 7% back and if you pay through UPI on Amazon or Swiggy or any online platform, you get 10+5, 15% reward back.

Now, as everyone I also thought it's too good to be true and the reward conversion would be shitty, but guess what, 1 reward = 1 rupee.

the only thing is you can redeem these rewards against shopping on the Pop Store on the Pop app, which I was a little hesitant about. But over these 6 months, they have got some really crazy and popular D2C brands on the store including Comet, Snitch, Chemist at Play, Plum, Campus Sutra, etc. and now I have become an active shopper on the app.

Even if you don't want to buy through the app, you can convert your rewards into Zomato Money in 4 rewards to 1 rupee ratio, so still not bad for people who don't want to spend money to redeem the rewards.

I have never came across an payment app like this, they are still very new and the app experience might be tricky sometimes, and that's my only complain. Baaki rest, khud istemal karo aur decide karlo...

Is this worth it? If the cashbacks were better, maybe, but to earn peanuts in cashback, why go through all thr trouble? Besides, all apps will end giving cashbacks. Why should they reward you for using a service where they lose out money?

SnoozyPickle
SnoozyPickle

@jake_peralta_B99 Hey bro, I did not get you? Are you saying installing all these apps and checking out is not worth it?
I personally have been like this since childhood. To some I appear as a miser🤷, to others, I appear as a responsible and conscious person. I'm not sure what to call myself. End of the day, I need to save money, that's it 😅.
Because my thinking is, untill and unless we are not making so much money, that going through all these hassles feel worthless, we should try to save as much as possible and as many places as possible. Because a penny saved, is a penny earned 😉. Nothing wrong in either of the thinking. But then again, "To each, his own".

Hey bro, I forgot to add one thing. Anyways we have to make all these payments right, rent/E.Bill/C.card bill etc. So, why not utilise such options and make some money, Albeit peanuts.

Get infinia card from HDFC and use payzapp to buy coupons to purchase virtually everything. Swiggy zomato amazon croma, home Centre, dine out payment via infinia. Each transaction almost 15% cashback as reward points. Use all of them to book flights or hotels.

SnoozyPickle
SnoozyPickle

15%??!!
Is there any criteria for getting this Infinia card? Because I have a salary account with HDFC, but all I keep getting is some nonsense ones which the bank employees try to pass on to me.
I had asked my RM n number of times, but the RM themselves keep changing so frequently that I have to keep repeating again and again to the new ones. I stopped asking about credit cards from HDFC 🤦. I'm thinking of transferring my salary account to any other bank. Will see, atleast now they will give or not 😅.

PeppyMochi
PeppyMochi

Try going to a bank and ask to transfer the account from that to that bank. That guy may help you. But it is actually around 17% cashback on most of my expenses. I have thrown my all other credit cards. This is the only one I use to get crazy reward points.

Paytm Alternatives

Folks, I have been loyal paytm user but seeing recent developments about their wallet, looking for alternate wallet app which can give UPI facility and other things which paytm has.
