2 Layoffs in 2 years

7 month ago I have been layoff then I joined another organisation now here also cash crunch happening so they also cutting down tech team how should I choose next company

Yesterday my technical manager told me that I’m compatible for the company and they are laying me off without any notice period what should I do. I’m a fresher and just joined this company on july 2023.

Last year March, I was hired as Growth & Marketing Lead in one of the companies abroad at 30LPA (Remote). Now, they are shutting the project I’m in and have received a notice. I’m a Marketer by profession with expertise in 0-1 growth in startups. I’ve 8 YOE. Now the problem is, 0-1 startups in India can’t afford me easily and other startups say I don’t have experience in series B and further kind of startups. If 0-1 have got good funding amount, they still want to hire someone who has experience of scaling Series A and further kind of startups. The basic chicken and egg problem. Although I’m trying to apply for the companies abroad, I’m super confused what should I do now. I’ve emergency funds to sustain 3 months but don’t want to rely on that.

Hi folks, I got laid off in Sept. since then looking for a Job. market is so scary. Few questions: 1. a lot of companies are hiring through crewscale, etc. they are offering low salary as per the role. are companies paying low salary to them or they are taking a big cut? do people treat them differently once they join a company via crewscale? 2. I am not able to get my resume shortlist for mncs. what to do now? recently my friend got a call from razorpay gehy were offering for sde role 15 lakh for 2 years experienced. they were paying 22 lakh for sde 1 last year. the role is not product engg or solution ennggg that they recently introduced for low salary. it was sde role. fat rhi h ab. kya kru?????? my exp: 2.5 backend

It's gonna be long thread. I have been working as lead engineer in a early stage startup since last one year. Founder (20 years exp in Product Management) raised some money from friends & family to start it and but company was running negative from February and he put his money to pay employees salary for March & April and We were hoping for some investment in April but that didn't happen. During May & June, he was looking for funding more aggressively and even after having a good background in academics & top tech work experience in product management, no investor got convinced to invest in it. Our salary for March & April was delayed from actual payroll date by 7 days and 21 days respectively and We were expecting our May salary to be delayed by same period and our company was about to complete one year in first week of July so we had some one year benefits associated as well. But Boom, he invited everyone on call and tells that company will shutting it's operation from next day itself. And he will help us find our new jobs and he doesn't any clarity on pending salary. Although we knew, our company is not in good shape so salary cut or something might be happening soon but didn't expect this. Now, we have to find other jobs and also be unemployed while searching for job and also get exploited by other companies because we will be desperate to find jobs to pay our bills. I think, he did this just before 5-6 days of our one year anniversary just because he doesn't get legally bound to pay our one year benefits. I for sure, not gonna join any early stage in future who doesn't have enough funding. Just wanted to put this story out of my mind. Open for any suggestions you have for me Thank you

I've 3 yoe, currently working in a very small startup as full-stack dev. Company's revenue is declining from Q4 last year. Every month layoffs are happening in each team. Last week, a dev was laid off from my team. No hike till now, working here from last 1.5 years. Although, got performance bonus twice. I want to work on a few ideas, tried to work on weekends but it led to burn out and started affecting my health, suffered from mental fatigue. Please suggest.

I started as a fresher at a big service-based company, faced a lot of politics, and was learning nothing. I realized I needed to leave it ASAP. I left it after 8 months, then was jobless for 2 months. After 2 months joined an early-stage startup, and was satisfied with my learning for a while, but in the backend team, there were only two people me and the CTO. And my dynamics with him didn't go very well. There was no culture as well, weekdays and weekends were the same. I was still fine with it but the guy (CTO) became very toxic and creepy. In 2 months, I started interviewing and I got into a mid-sized series B startup that had a good culture. I had to switch tech stack and it was more overwhelming than I thought initially. I tried to do good but I got laid off after working there for 10 months. All the way along I increased my package to a decent level. Now I feel super demotivated and underconfident and it's been 6 months since and I haven't taken up a job. With an increasing gap, I feel I have fucked up my career. In these 6 months, I have tried exploring different career options but haven't been able to crack any or have been indecisive and I feel I should just take up a job.

I recently joined an early age startup but that place was nothing what they told it’d be. So I decided to quit in 2 weeks. I now have an offer from a listed organisation and I am joining on Thursday. However, I haven’t told them about the last 15 days I spent at this startup and have submitted relieving of the last 2 orgs I worked with for 2 yrs each. Can there be a problem later?

I writing my thoughts about me(26 years) , I am web developer with 3.5 years right working at Amazon as web developer contract employee ending in Dec , looking for full times roles to join right now , I from a petroleum engineering background (2019 passed out ) later learnt software engineer frontend mostly from my brother's help & through online resources built personal projected ,started career in 2020 by joining a MNC as contractor developer worked there 4 months in 2020, then joined another startup their for 3 months , then 8 months at a startup , then 1 year 8 months at us startup but had a layoff in Feb , then joined Amazon contract through a referal( current CTC 12LPA). Not sure where will I work next ? Sometimes I feel lost & have imposter sendrome like in close to 4 years what have I learnt & excelled?when will I earn more ? But I have a many ambitious like built my own startup , write articles and earn, travel for treking , become fit, become a indie hacker , speak at conference internationally as well, work at top startups & innovate things? Not sure how to plan things & grow in my career ? Maybe 1 or 2years before marriage ? Not sure how I plan to have a stable job and grow in my career with better salary before marriage?

I feel a lot of insecurity about what if I lost my job. I work in Analytics & data science in a well known Indian Bank. Overall WOE is 8 yrs with 6 yrs in Analytics Tier 1 Engg+MBA. I would say after MBA i lost my way and hence behind my peers in career growth. This is mostly due to unsatisfactory work in the beginning leading to switches based on emotions and impulse, not patience. Though my current job is stable and its been about 2.5 years in this role, it’s a bit stressful and honestly I don’t like the constant firefighting mode that we are in. I constantly put in 10-11 hrs on a daily basis with occasional work on weekends. This includes almost 3 hrs of meetings everyday, where a lot of redundant work requests come in and almost everytime they have to be delivered in next 1-2 days. Quality of work is not so great. I tried applying but not getting decent calls. Only startups and Indian cos with high turnover reply to my applications. They too aren’t ready to discuss a decent hike. I am really insecure about what will happen if I quit / laid off. I have gone through layoffs earlier in my career and believe me it’s a terrible experience, eats up all your savings. I tI tried a few sidegigs to build passive income source such as building a YouTube channel on travel, or a travel advisory app but couldn’t move much. App didn’t happen and YT channel didn’t get off after few months of hard work. I currently am very demotivated and feel that i have not been able to grow in my career. Salary posts on grapevine add a lot more to my demotivation. Current CTC is 27.
