Money making and career building are two different things. Maid gets the same salary even after 5 years. That's not the case with IT joiners who can learn and earn more with growing experience.

True, just that some tea sellers are earning far more money than an IT engineer with 10 years of experience.

Right.. Business and salaried people are two different categories. It all depends on what one is good at. I just disagree your comparison in original post. People are easily deteriorating one job over the other. Though entry level salary is less which needs to be increased, I do believe that these IT jobs provide more opportunities for small town people like me to enhance life.

Wrong analogy, i started with 15000/- per month which is 1.8 LPA, now 10 years later I get 1.8 Lakhs per month in hand after ~50k tax and pf deduction. So growth is the key.

I work in service based mnc, cant switch track to product based now its too late. But I am content with good WLB ( as of now, had gone through hell period in previous mncs)

~2.5lpm after 4.5 years exp is a massive low ball imo. You should quickly upskill and find a new place.

Bitter truth

Those engineers are unemployable. cognizant have done a mass charity after a few years 95% of them will look out for a job change.

Companies like this are just doing charity work for us, honestly speaking.

If you ask them to write simple data structures programs and ask them space time complexity of a for loop they won't be able to answer them. Nobody has told them to join cognizant tcs Wipro Infosys etc... if you have talent then crack the open interview and walk-ins and get a job.

After taking 500+ interviews this is my option for the freshers job Market.

You do have a point, but the salary should be something that supports living in a tier-1 city at least break even.

Option is clear don't accept such low balled offers.

My cook and maid make more than that!

Individually.

I am tired of these comparisons. They ate helping you enter in the IT sector. Yes, the pay is way off but you will grow, right? But the maid will earn the same amount for 5 years. I usually LinkedIn posts of people celebrating their move from service to product but what they forget is that the exp they hold is from service only. The chance that they got is because someone helped them enter the market.

Cab Driving, Fitness trainer etc there are hell lot of better career options than this . A Cult fit trainer who undergoes some certification courses on fitness is hired at starting of 30-40k per month

This app users are not the target audience for this announcement for sure. But yes, it sucks and will continue to happen till they can get people to join at this salary.
