Course from GrowthX - Value add or Avoid?

Hi, A friend wants to do a course from GrowthX. Specifically this one - https://www.growthx.club/

75k, 8 weeks. Focused on growth - customer acquisition, onboarding, engagement and retention, and monetization. Mostly apt for app based businesses. The friend has not worked on these areas before.

Pls share your views / reviews. Is there any decent learning ? Any specific queries that will help answer this better - pls ask.

TIA.

I did growthx when it was like 40k and got it reimbursed from my l&d budget. Enjoyed the process but wouldn’t do it with my own dime.

I have done GrowthX. Although they market it well, but recently I have heard from newer batches that their structure has started to crumble as they are trying to increase batch size.

Only thing which I felt of value is capstone which you shouldn’t miss at any cost. Also, you should be able to devote some 2-3 hours at least everyday to the course to get some good learning out of it (during capstone, it can stretch to 7-8 hours as well).

I did it as part of my company L&D, but if given the choice to pay with my own money, I would look for some other programs which justify 75k cost. At best, 40k seems fair value to me.

A fair warning though, because they are currently in growth stage, they are using some grey tactics to lure new users. For e.g. The capstone groups, their lead and co-lead are made in such a way that top performers for the assignments are bunched in 2-3 groups. By doing this they make sure their demo day goes smooth as they are confident that these people will anyways be in top teams and will have better presentations than anyone else.

Reforge is much better and higher ROI from a global perspective.

GrowthX is better in the Indian market, but like someone mentioned if you do 3 good hands internships you will learn more.

Have heard a lot about GrowthX community but yet to come across a good candidate. (I hire for growth teams)

I am currently doing the process at GrowthX. Paid my own money. For me, it’s worth the money. Few pointers why I think it’s worth it:

  1. Group cohort - The group has people from 1 year exp to 25 years+ experience folks from different startups and even MNCs, including VC firms. So the amount of experience based learning is immense.
  2. Hiring - I am not sure if it maybe useful for me but few folks did get hired through GrowthX, and for companies to hire they got see proof of work of the candidate in terms of assignments done. Removes the total TAT of hiring for companies.
  3. I am currently in my week2 of capstone project, and the joy of working had been immense and have learned a lot from my team members.
Can’t comment on Reforge since haven’t done it, and have no friends colleague from my circle.

Is GrowthX worth it?

For some context, I'm an APM at a B2B SAAS company. Low salary 7Lpa with Wfh. The thing is my company has some products but it operates like a services firm and quite bad and slow as well. My efforts to change the operating processes are...
