Right time to ask for promotion

I work for a early stage startup (A) right now since about 1.5yrs at base 18lpa (no appraisal since my tenure even though I was told they have a bi-annual cycle, but It never happened) I have another company (B), willing to offer base 28lpa (but will require relocation). I still haven't interviewed at B, and was wondering if i can should talk to A asking for an appraisal? I'm also not sure if i should mention about B at all. How much i understand A will be like let us launch something and then we can talk about appraisals, but this has been going on since a year now and we tend to change the architecture or the methodology everytime we almost have something ready to ship. That being said still I'd rather stay at A than relocate for B at the moment. How should I go about this, any suggestions? TIA

Currently working with series A startup as product marketing manager at 23lpa. Joined them in july at near zero increment because last company shut down. Have proven my metal here and getting extra responsibilities. How to negotiate with them for good appraisal in the coming cycle in march.

So I started PMing a year back, 25y atm. Joined as APM right out of college. Sometimes I feel I should've done some adjacent role which would could've helped me in understanding how the industry works. Most of the times I work on feature mindlessly. Many times lead engineers directly come to me for ticket requirements, all though i can deal with them, from time to time i feel like an imposter.

I've been working as an APM at a startup for about 6 months. I kinda fell into the role. Was a developer previously for about a year. So in total about 2 years of industry experience. As an APM, I've not gotten a lot of opportunities to work on hands on PM stuff. My line manager isn't a great mentor and despite having conversations with him to give me more product related tasks, my situation has not improved. What should I do? Will I be able to land another APM or a PM job elsewhere?

I am a backend engineer, working in a tech powered fashion company. Total experience: 3.5 yrs Current CTC : 24 lac fixed, 12 lacs ESOP in 4 years I joined as a software engineer, this April I will complete 2 years in current company, but Manager saying promotion might not be possible due to current situation and less promo slots available. I have been quite a good performer last 2 years , building a crucial project from scratch and handling everything alone due to short staffing. There is sole dependency on me for that project and company has ambitious golas with that project this year. Recently got SPOT award from skip manager as well. Only talked to manager last week , although we had made a promotion action plan few months back for my promotion this cycle and I meticulously followed every points in that plan , manager doesn't seem to be fighting much for my promotion, although he always says in my face that I am his star performer. I am really upset with this. What should I do ?? Talk to skip manager? Consider switching company ? Please suggest me. Thanks. P.S : work culture and wlb is good here. Also as I have the complete ownership of the project, I learn as well.

Hi guys, I am currently working as an APM at an AI startup(B2B SAAS) working on genAI product. Have 2 YOE and base of 20 LPA. Looking to switch due to growth barrier and work culture. Have given interviews with startups in similar domain for APM roles but getting ghosted after 3-4 rounds. I am looking for 20-30% hike. Am i asking too much? Any suggestions? I am working in Consulting post MBA - it is a mix of PM, Product Strategy, Implementation projects. I can work on industries and multiple offerings so learning is widespread but a slow upward curve. Pay is good considering my previous experience and peers. Work life balance is also decent. But, they are not giving promotions in my team because of some stupid leadership decisions. I will have to wait for next 6 months. So I am in dilemma if I should stay or switch. If you were in a similar situation, how did you make your decision?

im a product intern transitioning to APM. Is 13L base a good place to start. I feel its a little too low as everyone seems to be making more than me. I was expecting around 15-18 but market conditions seem bad, should I look for other offers or do y'all think this is a good one Besides comp, work culture is pretty good and the opportunity + room for growth is plenty. I have been working at an early staged startup since an year almost, the product has grown well and seems to be on course towards a great trajectory. The only problem I have is I feel I’m not compensated enough for the amount of responsibility and work I do. It’s a super challenging environment and the founders have delayed the hike cycle to a funding round since the product has almost matured and they might raise soon. I feel if I ride the emotional wave of trusting the product, I might be left with a lesser than average hike instead I should start looking out because some folks in the company have also been made false promises in the past about hikes and raises. Should I wait it out since I’ve spent a lot of hardwork on the product and see if the same happens to me. What would you guys do? My focus is earning more and I’m highly driven towards improving myself. I hoped if I work well for the product, rest of the thing will take care themselves and I’ll also be offered a chance to be rich but it seems not like that at the moment.
