All the quitters to course makers… why?
I am curious whether this is a really lucrative avenue or it sparks for them? MS folks lead in this transition afaik

Seems like lucrative. Read in Reddit that apnacollege is making 30 plus crores revenue per year . Not sure about the figure though but it must be multiple times of their yearly salary.

Disclaimer - as long as they are not cheating or looting a lot of money from individuals, I think I’m fine with them.

I think it all comes from the herd mentality right from their JEE days. Afaik all of them did well in JEE and got into good colleges like NSIT, DTU etc. And they're very good at following a set framework of learning and teaching like solving a bunch of MCQs, leetcode questions etc. But many of them would struggle in areas which require innovation like building software in small early stage startups. That's the reason all of them are also from big corps like MS and Google where the workload is relatively less compared to startups and allows them to keep doing what they're good at - following a set path of familiarity. In this case DSA courses. Because they know that's what is in demand. Many of them would've made courses on cracking JEE before their MS/Google days.
Also heard that the Nishant guy was gonna get fired if he didn't resign so there's that. Bunch of clickbaity videos to build their social presence and make money off students and fresh grads.
At the end, it’s all business. Hardly anyone cares about learning. As long as money is flowing, everything is fine.
Simple maths. Selling courses is far more rewarding than working 9 to 5. You can work from anywhere, and earn better. On top of that, register your education company, generate invoices on that, get GST rebates, lesser tax and get all the other benefits that business owners get.

Anyone knows how much a typical (not insanely famous ones) shiller makes?
Want to gauge if selling your soul to devil is worth it.
Nothing wrong with capitalising on an opportunity to make significant money.
One sad part about all this is that most people buying these courses are lower middle class college kids. Their parents won’t really say no because at the end of the day it’s an educational expense.
All these courses are available for free on YouTube by much more qualified people. MIT/Stanford PhDs out here teaching for free.
A successful business idea, that have worked and provided the results. Basically same as what IIT/JEE coaching systems have implemented but for Software sector.
Easy Job, Safe business, good money and you keep getting validation from students. 🤡👏
One just have to repeatedly do the same thing every year with some mirch-masala.
The goal is to attract as many insecure students as possible. And in current time there is no shortage of those students.
Selling dream, if the outcome doesn’t come blame it to the customer that you didn’t do the hard work.
