Work hard and build in India 🇮🇳

So i am noticing majority of you guys who describe yourself as founder , I am sure you are working day and night buliding some amazing products and services for consumers out there in different domain , be it fintech , be it SaaS , be it eCommerce or any other category or even some minute one with huge scope, what you think about Indian startup ecosystem , is it going to be big , is next decade really belongs to India , the way prominent companies are setting up their offices in india , the manufacturing industries and specially the Indian tech engineers who are cost effective as compared to USA , what you think, where this journey is going I think USA and European countries are already reached at their saturation point , it's just a nominal stretch beyond that , but India is still growing and growing and it's economy is developing and Paisa developing economies mein banta hai.

Hi Team, I have an admit from a Boston University for MS in US. The loan amount is coming around 80L including living expenses and tuition fees. I’ll have to take a loan to pursue education there. Is that worth it? The loan amount looks too high. What would be the time taken on an average to payback the loan? Is the ROI justified? Please help. Thanks.

Recently, I've been observing a concerning trend that I haven't observed before in my 5 years in this industry. A large no. of job openings are coming up at mid-sized companies and startups that require 5+ years of experience but pay 7-12 LPA. One of these companies even used to pay a decent more when I'd applied to it a few years before Does anyone have insights on the root causes behind this trend and how it will shape up the job market going forward? My hypotheses on root causes:- (1) Bad job market (2) Advent of AI

So my sibling is about to graduate with a degree in Computer Science from a T2 college in a few months and wants to now do MS in the US because of three reasons: 1. Low levels of violence against women(Sexual Assault) [IMPORTANT!!] 2. Want to do innovative work in the US instead of working on copycat products in India 3. Ambition of living in the US long term because of free-er culture But my parents have flat out refused to fund the education or even help her with a loan due to regressive mentality (nahi jaana baahar, 2-3 saal kaam karo aur shaadi karo chup chaap) She has accepted a job offer for now and will make 14L/year. What are her options? Should she drop the idea of MS abroad?

Why are Indian second time Founders like Kunal Shah are not ambitious enough? They are building credit card apps while so many real problems are yet to be solved in a country like India.

When will founders learn that it is almost impossible to make a profitable consumer oriented startup in India. India is NOT USA. In India, people are not easily going to pay for your service. It is just a matter of time before most of them packs their bag.

Both environments have benefits and drawbacks. It really depends on your personality and goals. In a large corporation, you’ll be surrounded by people with a wide variety of working styles, expertise, approaches and backgrounds. You’ll have access to more resources and responsibility will be shared with other team members. You will have opportunities available to you, but you’ll likely have to pursue them yourself unless you have a really good manager supporting you. Otherwise, it can be easy to become a cog in the machine. The pressure is generally lower and so is the recognition. You can screw up royally and you’ll probably just get moved to another project. Even if you don’t screw up, you may find yourself shuffled between projects. In a startup, there will be more focus on you to deliver, train yourself and be independent. While you’ll likely be part of a smaller, more integrated team, there will be a much higher expectation that you can be self-motivated and deliver results. The learning opportunities that you have will be more along the lines of being tossed out of a plane with some fabric and a sewing kit and you’ll need to figure out how to make a parachute really quickly. The risks are higher, but so is the reward. It’s like the difference between taking the bus or riding a motorcycle. The bus is reliable and it will get you where you’re going, you have very little control over the specific bus, route, the driver, the other passengers, etc. You’re unlikely to get injured in a crash. It’s safe, minimal risk and ultimately putting your fate in someone else’s hands. The motorcycle is fast, you’re in control every step of the way, you could easily get yourself killed if you do something stupid and if the weather, roads or other drivers get in your way, you’re not likely to get to your destination smoothly. Hello Viners! I wanted to share my CTC journey and looking to seek your opinion on this! Joined Fintech(Paytm) last year with 3.5 YOE - 31LPA(Base) [Current] LaidOff but Got an offer in a SaaS company during my NP - 31LPA(Base) YOE - 4.5 Years Most of the companies I interviewed for were not able to match my current fixed because of which I took this offer. Now I feel like my Base is low as compared to the market average in terms of YOE which makes me worry about my career’s progression. Do you also feel the same? But at the same time I am grateful that in this job market, I have got a job. What do you think? Am I rationally thinking here? I live with my parents and they are partially dependent on me. I hope I have made a correct decision.
