UI/UX Designer vs product designer

A product designer atleast do the following: 1. Gather a deep understanding of the product 2. Create designs keeping the user in mind and not to simply impress a client 3. Analyse data and user insights to suggest improvements to the product A UX/UI designer could do a few of these but not be involved across multiple iterations of the product. You can look up salaries for designers in your exp bracket. Salaries are mostly decided based on 1. Current CTC (we can cry and complain about it but that’s the sad reality of our industry) 2. The company - established tech companies usually pay a lot and studios pay peanuts 3. Your interview- if your skills are in high demand, you can ask for a higher salary 4. If you have another offer, that becomes a benchmark
