Rant: Losing offers due to college

I interned at a company for more than 10 months. Gave my heart and soul to it They made me work late nights, gave me so much work I completed them all And now they denied a full time offer citing budget reasons I feel like a loser now. This is so not fair. Now placements at college are also over so theres no hope left Completely loss of words. I don't know what to do Can someone please guide me

I have got an offer from Oracle, but in their service based domain, hike is fair but its all fixed comp and no ther benefits. I am applying to so many jobs but getting rejected. Not a single call from a product based company. I don’t want to work in service based as my experience in Infosys is pathetic. Till now I applied for about 200+ jobs but the problem is- Getting calls only from some unknown startups and their budget is low if they compare to my offer. Not getting shortlisted in any product based even with referrals. There is only one thing to be happy, that I have an offer and even if its service domain in Oracle, in experience I can show comapny name as Oracle and it won’t be mentioned whether its service based or product. But internally I know it won’t help in long run. It will only be showing in my linkedin that I work at Oracle. Frustrated with applying jobs and getting rejected everywhere. 2 month of notice remaining, not sure what shoudl I change in my strategy or what should I do. Overthinking is also cherry on the cake.

I wanted to pen down my story, as I have been feeling extremely low for the past two days. I work hard, but still don’t get the results that I deserve Some background. Did engineering from a tier 3 college(this one’s on me, didn’t study hard in my 12th, hence completely my mistake). During college, I was motivated and determined to do good, and aspired for MS abroad in top university, so that I could get rid of the tier 3 tag(honestly, my undergrad college was so bad that mostly the localites of the city enrolled, and only for the purpose of getting a degree, even mass recruiters didn’t recruit from this campus). I worked hard in my first sem, and this college was affiliated to a state university. In the end sem exam, I was given horrible marks, completely careless checking, significantly reducing my GPA. I applied for reassessment but no change. Apart from that, I kept upskilling, learnt ML. In 4th sem, I was given a backlog(it got cleared when I applied for reassessment). Honestly I would always do well in class and internal exams, but somehow the external examiners always gave unfair marks and had to always apply for reassessment. In 3rd year, I got an internship of 2 months, but had to cut it down to a month as college had attendance issues. In the final semester I got a 6 month internship at a very good startup, at a very good pay, but again, had to turn it down due to college attendance issues. During final year, wrote a research paper, initially it got rejected, but had to raise contention with the conference committee for unfair evaluation, and after reevaluation by other reviewers, got stellar reviews and paper was published( you see how unfair it is right). I also gave GRE, TOEFL and got decent score, got into 1 so so university but was rejected by 5 others. Didn’t go for it as it was not that great and it was COVID year. After college concluded, it was COVID time. Continued in comments.

hey guys, I'm interviewing at a startup currently and they are asking me if I can work 6 days a week for a couple of months initially till the Product goes live. how do I respond to this? I want to take the offer but the 6 day work week is what pulling me back from accepting the offer.

During my B.Tech, I balanced my studies with active participation in clubs and committees, and also engaged in sports and exploration. Aspiring for a non-core placement, I didn't participate in hackathons or apply for internships. After graduation, I pursued various paths, including preparing for the CAT exam with only three months of preparation time, but I didn't succeed. I then applied to several companies for data analytics roles but kept making new mistakes in each attempt. In one instance, I was rejected for oversharing my passion for data science in a final interview. To improve my chances, I optimized my resume and completed significant projects, but these efforts haven't yet yielded the desired results. Realizing the challenges of relying on a single target, I also started preparing for the GATE exam. Reflecting on my journey, I recognize that I should have applied for on-campus opportunities, as off-campus job hunting is challenging and unpredictable, regardless of one's preparation. Tell me your story? In order to get some hope that we can make it and it's never too late

Heyy fellow developers, It's 23 engineering graduate from top college in bengaluru. I got an internship+ fte offer from Australian based SaaS startup. For these 6 months I have given my day n night to this job only to get to know that due to no projects in pipeline they are not going to convert any of the interns to full time. That's why I'm looking for opportunities now. I am full stack developer having done work in React.js, Kotlin, springBoot, postgresql . Also for design framework I'm well customed in Material UI. Currently working in a startup and contributing in data science projects. Learning is good but a lot of time goes down in meetings and discussions and I have to do late night work. Everyday starts to feel like the same and I am not able to get time for extra learning to enhance my knowledge and tech stack. Also thinking of company change but most of them need 3-4 years exp to the data science team. 😭

So, I joined a startup as a content writing intern. the timings were shitty (10hrs Mon-Sat) but it was good. I had already told them my situation that I do have classes for 2hrs I need to attend but otherwise I'm free (distance learning hai). I also need to go twice a month to centres for assignment submission or queries. But, the worst part is that no one was giving me feedback and I was still getting to know how things work on my own. However, after 20 days, they terminated my contract saying I wasn't up to mark and without any warnings or feedback. I was so flabbergasted that I couldn't voice my opinion. Now, I have gotten.internship opportunities from 2 startups. I don't know if this is how startup works and I don't want to get so stressed about it. Is this how startup environments are? P.S. : That was my first experience working with a Startup
