Great for drawing by hand, animating objects, creating mood boards. Can also be used as a diary or a note taker.
Tablets with stylus are very useful for free hand drawing. For me it makes discussing system designs over conference calls easier and much more productive. Taking notes and joting down ideas which are then available in every device you own is also a value add...
I bought it for designing. Mostly I use it for illustration purposes, designing wireframe rough ideas, taking notes and reading and entertaining purpose
I do wireframes in FigJam on my iPad with the Apple Pencil. It fits into my workflow quite well.
