Changing role

I am currently working as a manual tester on a project and I want to switch to an Automation tester. How can I expect a salary from the other companies? I have only 2 years of experience in hand.

If there's a program/exam in your company which allows you to transition to automation role then please do that and get some hands-on experience. If there's some kind of IJP thing in your company then use that for switching to test automation. If it's not available then and only then, you should try to look outside and upskill enough to justify having 6 months to 1 year experience in automation. I would suggest going for the option mentioned in the previous paragraph, please consider it as your last option. Because the current market is comparatively tougher and is not the same as the COVID era market where such things were normal. Wishing you the best!

Hi Folks! I am currently working as a manual tester. Its been 4 years I am doing this and now I have no mood to continue as a manual tester. Can u guys suggest ke how can i change my career path from a manual to automation tester? Which course will be helpful for this? Because I tried contacting few institutions such as Crio.Do, Star Agile but the issue is they are either asking for a high course fee or their rating is very poor. Fake Hands-on Experience in Resume?

I've 3YOE in Manual testing and want to switch to another company with Automation Tester role. I've learnt Selenium with TestNG framework using Java and have also created a few personal projects. Apart from this, I've learnt basic postman for API testing too, and planning to learn a few other things like DSA, Cucumber, SQL. So my question is: Should I lie in the resume by showing that I've 3YOE in automation? As it's difficult to be shortlisted for interview by mentioning only Manual testing experience in Resume because every company is expecting hands on experience. Or should I mention only Manual testing experience (the truth) only, with no hands on experience in things that I've learnt? Getting shortlisted is an very difficult in this way, though. Any thoughts?
