A friend got caught for a drunk and drive situation few days ago in Bangalore around Bellandur area. The officer there sensed that he wasn't a Kannadiga and refused to encourage any off table affairs and registered the case against him and vehicle was seized.
Around the same time, I also got caught but spoke in Kannada with the police officer. I could manage to get out of the situation without any legal troubles.
I accompanied my friend to the T. P. Station to get the vehicle back. Strangely almost everyone whose vehicles were impounded, were Wait for it Not Kannadigas.
I felt strange and checking if anyone else got in similar situations and knowing and not knowing kannada had different outcomes.

Is there a possibility the situation gets worse? Even the doctors are asked to write prescription in Kannada, so the goverment is also supporting it in a way.
