I see a lot of people stating that's it's good that the govt is getting a taste of it's own medicine... but isn't it like US taxing India 100% for imports means the businesses importing it will need to pay for it and in essence it will be passed on the consumer. So if buy an iPhone (random example) we will pay more and not the govt. How is this a lesson for the govt?
Perfect. You can also spit on them with gutka if you want. We have no objection bcz that's what we general public are "silently" opposing against nonsense tax system in India, that only benefits those who don't pay tax.

Lol, who is blaming whom on vote bank politics of India. We'll in India, taxes are not uniform. Diverse people needs to be imposed with diverse taxation. That would decrease tax burden on already burdened. People shouldn't be allowed to escape from uniformity. Also govt must give benefits to legals and high payers. No benefits to high payers in return.
