Don't criticize Narayana Murthy unless you have built a multi crore company yourself.

I honestly find this defense of NRN utterly funny and lazy. It's like saying don't criticize the bad food in a restaurant unless you are a chef. Or don't criticize the plumber for doing a bad job, coz you ain't a plumber.

Yes sure Narayana Murthy has really done a great job in setting up Infy, starting the IT revolution in India, creating a multi crore company.

But he ain't a holy cow for sure. His views and opinions have every right to be questioned and examined. He ain't some random faceless account, he is a public figure known all over. There are people who will take his views seriously.

One of the reasons for Tech's rapid progress is how theories were examined critically. Once upon a time waterfall model was the default for all projects. However as companies found it more inefficient, they switched to the Agile methodology.

Problem is most of NRN's views are kinda frozen in time, might have worked in the 90s and early 2000s. Today they are utterly outdated and irrelevant. And people will question them whether you like it or not.

By that logic NRN should not advice unless he has traveled in peak Bangalore traffic everyday, tried raising a family with 30K salary, and attended stupid appraisal meeting and answer question like " what have you contributed beyond your regular work?", updated status report of work done for the day?, pretended to enjoy the stupid games conducted by HR...

Having built a multicore company, he should have some sense in what he is talking. The old have to be respected and the old must behave in the manner to be respected. Senility is not license to talk nonsense.

What views are you talking about exactly? what did he tell you? Can you please help pointing to the actual information source ?
